Just back from a 6-day trip. Sunny the whole time; a little on the hot side toward the end – not conducive to long leisurely strolls about town. I had arranged to meet 2 fellow Montreal aficionados and had the good fortune to run into a third on my first night at Campus.

Closed-off Ste. Cathérine had lots of foot traffic. Boy-watching from the terraces with an afternoon drink was a great prelude to the strip clubs. As usual, the restaurants between de la Visitation and Panet were filled with customers till late at night.

I took a chance on a new twink escort and was very pleasantly surprised. PM for details.

Campus. Most days I arrived around 5:30 and stayed until the 9 pm shift change. And almost every day the place was filled with scads of very attractive dancers, ranging from twinks to muscles. Over the whole time, I can think of only 1 or 2 dancers (out of 30-35?) who were not genuinely good-looking. It was a real feast for the eyes.

I stayed a little past 9 one evening and got a look at the night shift. That was also a pleasant surprise – I saw none of the old, tired dancers of yesteryear.

Among the twinks: Marc, a handsome, small blond with great dancing skills, a blinding smile, and good conversation. Zoa, whom I met last fall, has completely changed his look: from dark-haired and scruffy to blond, clean-shaven, and smooth. There was also Gianni, not quite a twink, short, compact, lithe, with a dark Mediterranean appearance.

A bunch of old favorites: Davey, Pascal, Josh. And Brandon – it’s been close to a year since I’ve seen him. He’s as hunky and sweet as ever. (alageorge reported on Brandon a few days ago.)

New dancers in the swimmer/muscle group: Jeremy, Kovi, Jacob, Alexi, Mathieu, Billy, JP. There were many more whose names now escape me.

It’s not just the eye candy at Campus. The club has a comfortable, laid-back vibe. The managers and bartenders (Joey, Guy, Pat, Criss/Mario) and the DJ’s (Steven and former dancer Anthony) set a friendly tone, and most of the dancers are interesting and not pushy.

Taboo. Since April, Taboo has been open 7 days a week (8 pm – 3 am). This may not have been a good idea – Monday it was practically deserted. On the other hand, it was standing-room only for the Mr. Taboo competition on Wednesday, and almost as crowded Thursday. On those nights there were scads of dancers as well, but it was hard to get to them because of the crush of customers.

Taboo is once again attracting a group of young customers in high spirits who add a lot of energy. It’s a very different vibe from Campus, but just as appealing in its own way.

Over the course of the week, I probably saw about 25 different dancers, though the numbers fluctuated a lot from night to night. Unlike Campus, they were not a uniformly attractive group, even factoring in differing tastes. Compared to Campus, they were younger and thinner, ranging on into mid-20’s swimmer types. Some names that stick with me: Dgiani, Joe, Nathan, Andrew, Stephane, Simon, Rick, Samuel, Leo, Kyle.

Objectively speaking, Taboo was better (more and better looking dancers, more lively) than it was in March. Starting every day with an excellent 3+ hours at Campus probably devalued the Taboo experience for me.

JP’s. Every time I passed JP’s, there was a group of not-very-attractive dancers and not-very-attractive women hanging around the door. That was enough to keep me from going in.

Stock. I had good intentions, but never made it here.

Sorry our paths did not cross. Great report. Sounds like you had as much fun as we did. Your comment about the vibe of Campus is right on!
Likewise! It was interesting comparing your weekend experiences with mine on the week-nights. You saw no twinks at Campus; there were some outstanding ones while I was there. I was surprised to hear that Taboo was dead on Friday, given how mobbed it was on Wednesday and Thursday. It's a good illustration of how changeable things can be in the same club within the same week. And in my experience, there's no long-term consistency, either -- one week Mondays and Wednesdays are hot, another week it's Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Thanks 4 the report man! Still reliving the good times my bud and I had Memorial Day weekend up there. Good to hear Campus did some recruiting, was getting a little worried about that place! We spent more time watching the Bel Ami video on the monitors than the stage! :)

Campus This Week

Just for the fun of it, here is a list of some of the afternoon dancers at Campus in Montreal this week:

ZOA is a very pleasant and bright young man, who is currently blond. He is tall and with a swimmer's build; he is still sort of a twink. Conversation with him is good; his ass is very nice and round, and he is good for lap dances.

MARK is a cute little blond twink, young and smooth, affectionate, likes petting, tries hard at his dancing.

BRANDON is a very popular young, smooth, very well built and champion body builder in the bantam class. He is charming to talk with, beautiful to look at, and very good for lap dances. He will be a delight at your table for a drink or in your lap in the back room.

PASCAL is still here, charming and flaky, smooth but a little more muscular. I would still call him a twink, although my friend says he has moved on. These days when not dancing he is promoting vegetable walls. I saw him walking down Ste Catherine with one on his back and vegetables growing out of five containers.

TUCKER is one of a number of gorgeous young swimmer types who may have danced or could have at Stock. He is a little more developed than a twink, but he says he is still one. His body, and that of a number of others, is absolutely gorgeous - beautiful, smooth, tight, muscular, dynamite ass, very well endowed, and charming to talk with. Highly recommended.

IAN is a second dancer in this category. He was a great deal of fun to talk with and drop dead gorgeous to look at. Another beautiful smooth tight muscular body but general swimmer's build. He was wonderful in the back room also. These two guys are great additions to the line-up at Campus. His slow dance was one of the best I have seen, erotic, careful, totally nude the whole time and totally hard the whole time.

GIANNI is a cute and charming little Italian twink. He mingles easily, has a tight trim young body and an infectious smile. He is fun to cuddle with and then take to the back. He is very nice and friendly. Highly recommended.

JULIEN is another of the beautiful swimmer/muscular guys with a dazzling smile and gorgeous body. He and the others even try to really dance, and especially in the slow dance, really show off their beautiful naked bodies.

ROBERTO is still here and popular with many customers. He was once a cute shy little Cuban boy with the best ass in the house and almost perfect body and torso. He is a little beyond that now, but still very nice, and his English and French have improved greatly.

JACOB is a slender muscular swimmer, smooth and tight and well endowed.

MARCO is a tall, rather skinny but muscular dancer, 20 years old, and still getting used to things.

ALEXEI is a charming young man of Russian ancestry. He is smooth and delicious and currently a student. His round ass is purely Russian and delightful. He is good for conversation and eager to please, a very nice young man.

BRENT is one of the tall slender dancers who may be a bit older. He has a nice body but is a little remote, or seemed that way.

BARRY (or is it PERRY?) is a somewhat older dancer, very nice body with some hair, who celebrated his birthday at Campus the other day. He seems to be pleasant and well liked.

CHIMU might be described as the resident punk with a Mohawk hairdo and tight firm little body. He is youthful and eager to please. He is fun in conversation.

KEVIN is one of the dancers who is a little chunkier and bigger. None of the dancers, none, was off-turning or unpleasant this week, but some were more pleasing than others and they appealed to different audiences.

CRISS to my surprise danced in the afternoon and then tended the shot bar at night. Criss' body is magnificent, perfectly developed, perfectly smooth, and he is a delightful person. Highly recommended.

COLBY / or KOVI ? was a nice looking smooth, muscular dancer with a swimmer's build.

SEBASTIAN and JUSTIN were two more of the very nice smooth, tightly muscled swimmer types.

As you can tell, there aren't many pure twinks currently, but the swimmer builds are very gorgeous and lots of fun to play with and might be the slightly older brothers of the young twinks.

If you are new, lap dances are $20 / song. With all the renovations of the back room, one of the results is that the cubicles are very dark with very little light. If you are in for purely tactile pleasures, they are great. If you would like to see your dancer as well, be sure and tell him to show you to a cubicle that has some light.

SAMMY the waiter is back and looking better than ever. He began as a skinny little twink at Taboo many years ago, and now he has one of the best physiques in Montreal. And he is a charming and very nice guy. He can also be found in South Florida during the winter.

There is a major qualitative difference between dancers performing in their briefs and those dancing totally nude with a beautiful hard-on. Campus provides lots of the latter. I don't know if you will ever find more beautiful or erotic nude dancers than Ian and Tucker in their slow dances.

Taboo in June

.

TABOO is still in a state of flux, some nights good, but others not very good. Here is a list of some of the dancers at TABOO this week.

KEVIN is a tall, blond dancer, rather slender and smooth, like all the dancers.

KYLE is a very cute young dancer with dark eyes, short dark hair, voluptuous body, and gorgeous ass. Nothing skinny about this boy, just really nice body. He is sweet and is nice for a lap dance.

DAVID is a tall, sweet, slender young dancer. There seem to be more tall boys this year than in the past.

ERIC was a cute young dancer who was not tall, but average in height, cute face, nice legs and ass, sweet and somewhat quiet.

ANDREW was the only dancer who performed every night. He was average in height, had several tattoos, but was friendly and performed well on stage. Smooth body, nicely endowed, and good ass and legs.

JOSUE was a dynamic dancer, nice body filled out, smooth and slinky.

SIMON was a cute young dancer, nice and smooth and sweet and fun to talk with, good in back. Not skinny, but firmly fleshed out and ready to be handled.

JOE was another of the tall, slender, smooth guys.

JOHNNY / JACKIE was 18 years old, smooth, sweet, cute, curly haired, nice legs and ass, fun to talk with, and lots of fun in back.

LEO was a very nice young dancer, currently with bleached blond short hair, a good smooth, somewhat muscular body, very friendly, and very good in back. He is very good for conversation and knows what a lap dance should be.

RICK is a pest; be firm from the beginning and he will leave you alone. He's chunky and a litle pudgy.

SEBASTIAN was kind of fun but flaky, with a long hank of hair falling over one eye. He was quite articulate while chatting and nice and smooth. He seemed popular in the back room.

SKYLER is a very nice, cute dancer with a swimmer's build, tall, sandy in complexion and hair color, pleasant, and his dancing got better as the night wore on. Good abs and ass and legs and nice and smooth.

LOU I found interesting and attractive, but did not get a chance to test drive. He was of average height, dark hair and eyes, and very nice smooth rounded body. His first dance was a little frantic, but the second was quite good and erotic. He shows off his fully nude body very well. I will try him next time.

XAVIER was a stunning discovery I don't fully understand yet. He is 19 and speaks some language I could not understand. But he understood why he was there. His face is charming and sweet and his ass the best in the house. As he became a little more confident he put on a better and better show. I enjoyed him in back several times and will again. He is aware of his assets, and while playing pool, he pulls his pants and underwear down below his buttocks in back, so when he bends over for a shot, everyone in the bar gets a good view.

OLIVIER was a stunning little twink, who was also unusual. Again I don't know what language he spoke, although some said he was from Mexico City. Her certainly spoke no English or French and I could not detect Spanish. But he understood what was desired and delivered in spades. Wow! He has a mop of bleached blond hair currently and a very nice body and good sized dick. Nice round firm ass. Best lap dance of all one night.

FREDERICK was a new dancer, 18 years old and a senior in high school; he will be 19 next month. But he is a big boy, tall and well built. He was very pleasant to talk with and enjoyable in back, although he was somewhat cautious since he was new. I think he will be very good in a little while and recommend him.

NATHAN is one of the leaders in the bar now, I think. His picture appears several times in Fugues Magazine. He is pleasant looking, slender, smooth, dances well on the floor and on the pole, and knows how things operate. I didn't have a lap dance with him because I was busy with others, but I was interested.

TOMMY is 47 years old, the other dancers told me, and wears a baseball cap at all times. He doesn't look bad, but didn't attract me.

FOX is an articulate, tall, skinny dancer, who was actually animated and intelligent while talking at my table, but didn't turn me on.

ALEX is the drinks waiter; he's cute and friendly and helpful.

STEFAN , the long-time waiter formerly at Taboo, was walking down Ste Catherine one day and stopped to chat. He is still very nice and still enjoys twinks.

TABOO is still in hit-or-miss mode, some nights good but others not so good. Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday were not so good. Wednesday, which was a Mr. Taboo Night (this goes on for 13 weeks) , was very pleasant with a good crowd, 15-20 nice dancers, and a good atmosphere. Jean-Sebastian was dj and did a good job, keeping the sound level reasonable and announcing in both French and English. It was enjoyable. Friday night was the best of the week by far with 17 really nice dancers and a pleasant, although not large crowd. On Friday nights, they put linen table cloths and candles on the tables and encourage the dancers to "dress up." It makes the place look more attractive and kind of festive, and a number of the dancers, like Leo and Kyle, sported collars, cuffs, and a tie and it was fun to play with them. Saturday was not good; a different dj was unintelligible, so I could not understand a single word or name all night; and he turned the volume up so high you could not carry on a conversation and it gave you a head ache. Several dancers told me that they could not talk with customers because the volume was so high. When I asked the manager, Karl, to please turn down the volume, he said the music needed to be that loud and turned his back. So much for helpful manager.

Most nights most of the dancers spend all their time when not on stage out on the front steps smoking and talking to each other. Only a few circulate and try to meet customers. It is worse than before and the manager does nothing. Dances in the back room are definitely $10, but other customers told of false counting on the number of songs, so be careful. On Friday, I had more fun in the back room than I have ever had before at Taboo. Then on Saturday, I left early because it was so bad. I had several offers of privates either immediately or later, so there are lots of opportunities. Be prepared.

It should be noted that Saturday afternoon is also a very poor time for Campus. There are very few customers and very few dancers. By 7:00 p.m. there were still only four dancers and long musical interludes between dances. It was kind of embarrassing. I don't know what happens later. It has been the same in past years. Friday afternoon, on the other hand, was the best of the week at Campus; lots of good dancers from early on and no musical interludes but one dancer after another.

When I stopped in at JP's, there was no one there except the dj, who was reading a book..

The Stripper Bars

If you are not familiar with Montreal's layout, all four gay stripper bars are along East Ste. Catherine Street within a ten minute walk. Campus is the western end; then Stock two blocks later; then JP's a couple of blocks further; and finally two more blocks to Taboo, across the street from the Papineau Metro Station. Ste Catherine is a pedestrian mall with lots of people and restaurants, so it is perfectly safe. If you are staying elsewhere in the city, take the metro to the Beaudry Station on the Green Line. When you emerge, you will be on Ste. Catherine between Stock and JP's. You can easily return home via Papineau, which is right outside Taboo's door. There is also a line of cabs by the Papineau Station.

St. Catherine's Street is a pedestrain mall for the summer and lined with outdoor terraces from restaurants and bars. It is very pleasant to sit here almost any time of day or night and enjoy a coffee, soft drink, or alcoholic beverage or have dinner. And people watching is always good. It is also fairly easy to pick up a boi here, especially if you are sitting alone. Just watch. The guys who are interested will make eye contact and slow down or stop. If you appear interested in talking, they will come over and you can chat and almost always arrange something for afterwards. People walking along are forever stopping to chat with friends they see at an outdoor cafe, so it is not obvious to others what your situation and intentions are. After a day or two at the clubs, you will recognize a number of dancers as they walk by. Don't be offended if they do not recognize you; they dance in a dark club with lights in their eyes and see dozens (hundreds?) of patrons a night. Even though they may have had a lap dance with you or me, most do not remember. Maybe after several dances, they might. : - )

What Else to Do in Montreal

In addition to enjoying the clubs in Montreal, there is much else to do during the day. If you are in town to enjoy the twinks, you can go to CAMPUS from 4:30-8:00 p.m., have dinner at an outdoor cafe along Ste. Catherine, and then wander down to TABOO for late night fun.

If you are not yet familiar with Montreal, the bus tour, which leaves from near the basilica downtown, is a pleasant and easy way to become acquainted with the city, its areas, neighborhoods, and attractions. You can hop on and off the bus as often as you like if you see something interesting.

The Musee des Beaux Arts / Museum of Fine Arts is a very nice medium sized art gallery. The collection of late 20th century art is especially good, but there are other very good pieces also. The very fine collection of art by Canadians has been newly installed in the galleries below the church across the street. All three buildings of the museum are connected by underground galleries and passages. The new outdoor sculpture garden is excellent. The special exhibits are often very good, and right now there is a special exhibit of the works of Tom Wesselmann, an American Pop artist. He has been famous for his "Great American Nude" series, but the show, based mainly on the Wesselmann Foundations resources, is eye-opening and wonderful. The steel cut-outs are some of the most brilliant and dramatic pieces. The notes are very good and you can follow his development as an artist, and it is much more interesting and impressive than anyone has known until now. There is a fine restaurant in the museum for lunch, and also a snack bar. The GUY CONCORDIA metro station is only a couple of blocks away. There is also a museum of Contemporary Art on the Place des Arts.

The Marche Jean Talon is a very large outdoor market (actually under a shed covering) on the north side of Montreal. 300 merchants offer a great variety of fresh produce, and they take a special pride in colorful and attractive displays of their wares. The presentations of colorful bell peppers, cauliflower (in several colors), hot peppers, citrus fruits, and berries are particularly noteworthy. If you have not yet tasted them, try the Quebec Berries / Quebec Cherries, a local delicacy which is never exported to other provinces or the States. It is a sweet and delicious light brownish fruit and is only in season for a few weeks during the summer. Sometimes I have seen them called "Cerises de Terre" or "Montmorency Cherries." The Atwater Market on the west side of town near the Lionel Groulx metro is also very good.

The Botanic Gardens are one of the largest and most beautful in the world, close to the Pie IX metro stop. You can easily spend several hours walking around. Right now the millions of roses are at their peak. Start your circuit at the ticket booth and entrance to the right of the Administration Building. Enter and walk along the path through the Rose Garden, then turn left into the Chinese Garden and see the buildings, courtyards, temples, lake, mountain, and flowers; come down from the mountain and turn left into the Aquatic Plants Garden with 200 varieties of water lilies; turn left through the Miniature Rose Garden; and then enter into the Japanese Pavilion and Garden. The displays inside can be interesting; the sake and lacquer exhibits were very good. The gardens are extensive. Circle around and up the hill and down, then turn left into the Native Quebec Forest Garden; turn left on the path to the First Nation Exhibits of Indian art; go through the outdoor pavilion and you come out on the English Gardens with lush beds of summer flowers. Turn left and walk through these gardens and you come to the Alpine Garden, which is very unusual and interesting. They have created an artificial mountain and brought plants from eight mountainous regions around the world (Alps, Pyrenees, Rockies, Caucusus, Atlas, Himalayas, etc.) Come down from the mountain and walk straight ahead across the service road and enter the area of more traditional gardens: the Monastery Garden, the Herbal Garden, the Poisonous Plants Garden, and then beautiful formal gardens with beds of many flowers. Turn left and walk through various gardens. On your left side will be the Potager Garden, a reconstruction of an old traditional Montreal garden with mixed vegetables and flowers; it is always beautiful and interesting. Then there is the Garden Cafe, a very pleasant place with outdoor terraces on several sides of the building where you can rest and enjoy lunch and/or a drink. It is an easy walk down the hill past the Olympics site to the metro stop at Pie IX.

Montreal in June - cont.

.

A visit to the Old City and Old Port are worthwhile and enjoyable. The center of the area is the Place Jacques Cartier, lined with lovely 18th century buildings and lots of outdoor cafes. It is a pedestrian mall, so no street traffic. It slopes down a hill from the Hotel de Ville / City Hall, to the harbor. The side streets of 18th century buildings are filled with art galleries, antique dealers, restaurants, boutique hotels in what were once warehouses, and souvenir shops. In the main Place, there are street entertainers, artists, musicians, and all sorts of things going on. Have lunch here and enjoy wonderful people watching. A specialty in all restaurants is mussels. You usually get four dozen in a steamer; you can have them with white wine, red tomato sauce, beer and apple cider, or cream. Served with crispy, thin French fries and a cold beer, it is a great lunch. The harbor here was once the commercial center of the city, but over time all of the shipping has moved downstream to more modern facilities. You can take a boat ride out to the St. Lawrence Seaway. All of the old harbor area, after some years of neglect, has now been spruced up as a recreational area, and throngs of people enjoy the area. You can rent a bicycle or pedicab or various other things from stands by the harbor and ride up and down the esplanade. Or you can continue on the bike path across to the islands and the casino and the former Expo '67 site. Or you can ride west along the path beside the Lachine Canal, once an important artery for shipping but now only for recreation and beauty. It is nine miles long and goes from the Old Port to Lake St. Louis; it was opened as a bicycle path in 2002. There are several locks.

Right now the Cirque de Soleil has their huge tent set up down at the harbor, and they are putting on previews of their newest show for the next six months. It is a great location and should be a lot of fun. There are festivals of many kinds all summer long in Montreal. The fireworks competition goes on for two months. This week there is the great international jazz festival. You can find a list of the festivals on the web.

There are many fine restaurants in Montreal, but since most American cities now have a variety of good restaurants, I think, this is not a particular attraction. Eating at one of the restaurants along the Ste. Catherine pedestrian mall in the gay village is a pleasure for several reasons and recommended.

To get downtown and to your hotel from the airport, follow the advice of newatthis and take the 747 Bus . As you exit customs at the airport, go to the money exchange office on your right and buy the ticket for $8 (as opposed to about $40 for cab). You can buy a return ticket at the same time and not have to worry. Walk straight out the door and there is the bus, and one leaves every 12 minutes during the day. It is a 45 minute ride and makes 11 stops (if desired, although usually only 4 or 5 in actuality) before ending up at the bus depot at the Place Dupuis by the Berri-Uquam Metro. It comes all along Rene Levesque Street and you can get off many places. In addition, your small plastic ticket is good for unlimited rides on any bus or metro for 24 hours, so you can get anyplace with no extra charge. There are good maps of the metro and streets in Montreal on the internet. The first stop after the airport is the Lionel Groulx metro stop and about half the people get on or off here, and you may find it convenient for your location. Your free metro pass will then get you to any place on the metro system.

Montreal is a lovely city with many attractions, day and night.

Karl, Thanks for the interesting and well written report on Taboo and other things to do while in Montreal. It's most appreciated.. During my June visit the Cirque du Soleil show, "Amaluna" was taking place. It was excellent. I believe it is now closed. Not sure the name of the new show that is currently in previews.

Enjoy your visit.

Karl-G, I've very much emjoyed your posts on Campus and attractions in Montreal. Was there just a few days before your last trip. Your list of the afternoon dancers at Campus did not include my favorite among the new dancers, the beautiful Mathieu. Was he not dancing while you were there?

If you check back to my original post, you'll see that Mathieu was at Campus that week. It's possible he was dancing before Karl got to town; I didn't keep track of the exact days.

Mathieu

.

Mathieu was there; I had forgotten. Just as I was leaving for the back room with a delicious dancer, "Mathieu" was announced. My charming companion of the afternoon leaned over and whispered: "He's really gorgeous." What was I to do? The delights of the back room and the bird in hand beckoned. I am weak. So we headed for the back room and a delightful rendez-vous and all thoughts of Mathieu vanished. By the time we finished, new dancers were appearing and I forgot, because I had never really seen him. It is one of the terrible occupational hazards that we SBLs (Strip Bar Lovers) must sometimes endure. "If I leave I will perhaps miss a terrific new dancer; but if I never go in back I will miss untold delights."

Perhaps you have sometimes had the experience?

OK, you guys have really inspired me. Just booked another weekend even before I take this week's trip. ;) Only 20,000 UA miles plus $60 in taxes. Given how much tickets to Montreal cost from DC it is not a bad use of miles I think. Plus I get to see my DC United play Montreal that weekend. Can't wait to get up there on Wednesday!

Which reminds me...while I was in the back one evening, I am told that Pascal, in the midst of his fully naked "slow" -- and Pascal's "slows" are something epic in any circumstance -- pulled Gianni up on stage and went to town on him in a duo that had everyone loosening their collars (or something :)).

Karl,

Sad to see that the manager has fallen into the not caring trap. I experienced the same thing with the idiot DJ on Saturday night drove me out after 1 hour of hurting my ear drums and eyes with his strobes. Evidently that is why the dancers don't show up on Saturday either because they know they can not talk to the customers. Saturday was weaker then Friday on Memorial Day weekend.

Maybe someone should show him this forum and its comments and he could replace the DJ hopefully with Jean Sebastien.

Karl-G, thanks so much for responding to my inquiry. I was beginning to worry that the perhaps excessive attention I had showed him in mid-June had sent him packing to the hinterlands. The most unusual thing that ever happened while I was in the back was the arrival of two Montreal police officers looking for someone who had allegedly been seen with a gun in the village. On a signal from the dj, the beautiful Brandon pulled up his briefs and opened the curtain. The police left pretty quickly, and Brandon and I resumed our dance. Of course, by the time my friend Byron told this story to friends back home, I had been detained by the police.

Thanks to Karl-G and newatthis for their recent comprehensive reports. Excellent information! So glad to hear Brandon is back at Campus. He has been one of my favs for years and I haven't seen him since last summer. I'll need to scoot up to Montreal soon to catch him whilst he is still working.

Hello and happy post 4th of July. Well one of my top escorts said "let's go to Montreal"; we're in upstate NY. So on the 3rd we drove to the big city. Stayed at the Gouverneur (sorry for spelling); give this a 10 star, very, very convenient and nice priced. Love that Ste Catherine was closed off; great for walking. But now the disappointment, it was a Tuesday night and the pre 4th holiday but my friend and I went to both Campus and Stock; we could hardly get the boys to acknowledge us. Both places were not overly busy, it was around 11pm; I waved my hands, made glances, etc and nary a treat. We both were well dressed, my friend is handsome, I'm not Brad Pitt but dress up pretty good. The dancers would sit at the bar, we only had one bite, a very nice Latino, who spent some time with us and made out pretty well (hell I had to spend the Canadian money). Is this usual during the week? Thanks.

Taboo was very crowded last night. So crowded there were no available seats when I arrived. It was the Weds night Mr. Taboo thing going on.

I have to admit that there were only a couple of guys dancing that I found especially attractive. Antoine is very cute but couldn't dance his way out of a wet paper sack. I assume he must be straight. :-) I did like Bobby even with his tattoos and penchant for hip-hop/rap music. The waiters are adorable though.

This guy Andrew was a pest. And smelled like a pack of cigarettes. He said he is visiting from Toronto for the summer. Didn't take the hint that I wasn't interested in talking to him. I had the impression that all of those guys smoke a lot judging by how much they were all running outside every 5 seconds. Even with the big crowd the boys didn't mingle much and I didn't see much traffic going to the back.

It's nice that Taboo is there, but I wasn't particularly impressed. I'll give it another try though...maybe tomorrow. Plan to drop by Campus this evening for a look.
