Dallas is back! I don't know about you, but I got a thrill running up my leg when I saw the opening sequence and the original Dallas theme playing. The two leads above, Jesse Metcalfe and Josh Henderson are pretty and decent actors, but not surprisingly, the one to watch is Larry Hagman's JR. He chewed up every scene that he was in and you could tell he made Sue Ellen remember why she'll always be in love with him. As usual, Patrick Duffy's Bobby is the moral center to the show, and while the feud between John Ross and Christopher is building, it's the lifelong animosity between JR and Bobby that is the underpinning of the show.

It was good to see Lucy and Ray, and the return of Ken Kercheval as Cliff Barnes is on the horizon, but why the heck wasn't Pam at her son's wedding?

I watched too loved it. i saw every season every episode. the reason pam wasn't at the wedding is because she is suppose too be dead. she was hurt in a car crash on the show vanishes from the hospital. later bobby finds her and she tells him she is now in love with her dr. when bobby leaves the dr says but pam why didnt you tell him the truth. pam says i don't want his pity of knowing i'm dying. I saw every episode first run on cbs then again on tnn. atleast 3 times

No, Pam never "officially" died on Dallas. The reason she wasn't there is that Victoria Principal wouldn't do it. She hasn't acted in over a decade, never gives interviews, has withdrawn from the world of acting. She has a very successful cosmetics business (all those infomercials) and refuses all attempts to talk to her about Dallas.

Metcalfe looked terrific (no tattoo) and those pecs are to die for. Henderson is the better actor. The show needed more J.R. Lucy and Ray looked fat, puffy, and OLD!

we never saw her die on Dallas. But after that scene with the dr where she says she is dying she was never shown again. they even used a different actress to play Pam for that scene. officially Victoria's last scene was her in the car for a season final. she's on the phone with bobby. some guys start playing chicken on the road her car crashes into some gas tanks and explodes. she is taken to the hospital then weeks later vanishes. down the road bobby looks for her finds her then she tells him she has fallen in love with her dr. bobby walks away then she talks to the dr about dying.

The first two episodes were great story telling to lead into the summer series. It appears that there will almost be as much drama and cat-clawing as there is around here.

A great start to the summer!

Why wouldnt you expect cat-clawing from a bunch of pussies :confused:

I never really got into Dallas as I was dedicated to Cyrstal and alexis over at another show. And now I just dont have time for it, with all the Bravo housewives to keep track of, running around the world with 80 plates, and finding out who can really dance, my viewing time is exhausted.... I really need a Tivo....

I think the only reason why they added the Pam dying scene was to justify that Bobby moves on seriously with April...

I think it was done after they knew VP wouldn't want to come back for another season and they wanted to open the door to a serious Bobby & April relationship. it wasn't even Victoria Principal who played that last scene, it was Margaret Michaels.

Pam is alive! Pam is alive! Bwaaaaa! lol

Now I haven't seen the new version, but I'm eager to get caught up. And you guys mention that some of the old cast members are back. Sue Ellen was mentioned - did they get Linda Grey to come back to reprise her fabulous, long-suffering yet always scheming Sue Ellen who should have seen a therapist for her unhappy co-dependent relationship with that dirty dawg JR? Say it's so and I'll order my tivo immediamente.

I understand Larry Hagman has had quite a number of health issues in the past, most notably a liver transplant. Heavy drinking and smoking in his younger days have likely contributed to his aged look (not to mention he is almost 81).

The Actor who played his Father Jim Davis Past on during the Original Dallas run didn't he? I think he was much younger than JR is now?

Unfortunately JR. NOW looks like his younger Bro's Father!

Yes he died during the third year I think of the series and was 71.

So I have to ask everyone....between Jesse Metcalfe and Josh Henderson, if you could only choose one to have sex with, who would it be :) I would choose Jesse
