I knew a lot of these guys personally, so for me it is in many cases a matter of reliving, and yes it was mostly self inflicted, but it still does not lessen the pain of seeing so many beautiful men, both physically and emotionally, succumb to such a destructive time.

Gay porn was sooo much better in the late 80's and 90's because there was no twitter and Facebook and blogs which have turned average people into porn actors. Also, I never wanted to get to know the porn actor I might have been renting for my VHS machine anyway. Today they're in your face with more drama and arrests than the casts of Dynasty, Knots Landing and Dallas combined. Sans the studios like Falcon, All worlds, etc, who put out new videos either weekly, weakly, or bi-weekly when gay porn was cranking out some really hot porn sex on video, "stars" then, would have had no outlet for their craft or us a connection to them.

 

It was sooo much more fun, walking into the video store with a rapid heartbeat wondering what box-covers, studios and models might be on the wall with your favorite actors encased on the box with huge, hard cocks which you would have never have thought about ever meeting. Or at least me.

From the early 80's and on into the early 90's I had a friend who was co-owner in three porn studios, and another friend who hired porn stars and ran in the porn crowd party circuit. I met so many of these guys, and most were really sweet people. Yes, tons of drugs and unprotected sex, but we just didn't get it in those early days. By the time we did, like much of the gay community, it was too late.

Yes he did go to prison for offing the gf, far as I remember. I would say that is not well in my book. AND recent pics of him, well he looks like ten miles of bad road. Now back in the day, when he would hang out at "The Numbers" in LA, he was a site to behold. Damn what a stud he was.

I personally could don't care whether you buy it or not. 90% of the conversation on the M-F everyday is made by people that are speculating on a particular subject. No one here is expected to fact check every single comment they make. That would be absurd.

 

Take a moment to scan the thread on Erik Rhodes for example, many people there have insinuated or speculated on his death. Whether or not it was or was not brought on by drugs or steroids.
