It was in Spain.

Well there ya go. Europe has tons of nudes beaches which are family oriented. Go figure. And someohow European men always seem better looking and in better shape than Americans. If you go to most hetero American beaches, you would probably want to tell Most of the visitors to "cover up"....

Probably true but nobody should be so ashamed of their bodies that they have to cover up. I like it when people of all sizes are confident enough to go bare it all and just enjoy themselves. Not that I wouldn't appreciate a fine body here and there but I'm not going to the beach looking for some abercrombe porn experience.

I agree in theory, but after visitng a friend in a nudist camp, I am retrhinking my position on it.....:D

I live in the central U.S. where you rarely find men wearing speedos or bikini-type swimsuits. But, personally, I don't like wearing the board shorts at all. I feel like there is something holding my legs. I want freedom of movement when swimming. However, I am not young enough to have a regular speedo body. I do like the comfort they offer, and have found a trunk style suit (not long in length, with speedo comfort) is a good a middle ground. I do wish the younger men in my area would wear more speedos, but seriously doubt that's gonna happen anytime soon.

As far as I’m concerned what I have worn on the beach, over the years, has always depended on what my mirror told me. In the 60’s when I spend hours six day a week at the gym and had a small waist and a great chest and 17” arms I wore as little as possible. As time moved relentless on I found myself wearing more and more. Currently I wear as much as possible to cover up the wrinkles and the sags. The waist has expanded, the chest has drooped and the 17” arms have disappeared. I once told someone that clothing was created for two reasons, 1.) warmth, and 2.) to hide a multitude of physical failures. At my age I have more than my share of physical failures thus, even at the beach, I stay relatively covered up. In the end, for me, it is all a matter of esthetics.

Loved this post from you, but I suspect that it is not nearly as "bad" as you portray. I know what you mean, however, and know that I will never have that body I had at 15, 25 or even 35. That said, however, I am always amazed at how many young guys are really into older guys, even if we don't have the physique we once had. I am with you on the beach, however, I would not wear a speedo again like I once did, but I do have a very short boxer short that seems to me about the right amount of cover up while at the same time hinting at what is underneath! Also, it helps to have nice buns, even though the middle is no longer perfectly flat !! So, my friend, don' dispair and enjoy the wrinkles and sags... some guys really treasure that situation and the maturity and experience that you can express!!!

this southern guy cant imagine wearing such a thing. Have always been heavier and had a love to hate relationship with the sun.

now seeing other guys who work hard at having a speedo ready body, that I can do. i'm a good observer :)

here its shorts I've never seen anyone at the pool in speedos

You know, Joseph, your reply got me thinking since I've never really paid attention to that distinction.

Today I was observing everyone at the Bamboo pool at the Cosmopolitan hotel in Vegas and I was the only one in speedos. How shocking ...

just back from my first trip to Rio today....was surprised to see the "Speedo capital' (?) did not have many Speedo-wearing dudes at all....a few classic Speedos, but lots of boardshorts and those (don't know what they're called) sorta form-fitting square trunks....all ages wearing the few Speedos, but more middle-aged and up....volleyball players ranged from Speedos to long boardshorts....just a big mix of all styles.....gotta say I think even Rio may know that Speedos have a "gay rep" now, whether that bothers anybody down there or not.....what a place!.....that city grows on you....

Yes yes yes...Soooo glad that you had a great time!! I guess we are hearing it from the 'horses mouth' about the latest swim wear in Rio. I always thought that it was the speedo capital of the world also, certainly was when I was there, but that was many moons ago. I will be anxious to hear about Rio when I see you in 'Chi Town' and please bring photos if you have them. ;) Yes most definitely, we will need to see some pics of the boys..LOL
