And the ship comes to port. Anyone have any suggestion as to where to have some nice gay boy fun? Really, am interested in hearing. I keep hearing this isn't gay friendly but hoped there was some place to go. Plus our ship

spends some time in Cape Canaveral; any suggestions. I'm meaning escorts, hustler places, bars, etc. I"m looking to have some fun.

I have never been to the Bahamas, but like you, I have heard it is not very gay friendly. I seem to recall that Rosie O'Donell's gay cruise stopped there some years ago and was threatened to be met with protests from local churchgroups. I don't recall what happened in the end but you can google it and find out.

Personally, I would be very cautious.

Don't get off the boat.

The place is a dump.

I seriously hate the Bahamas. The vibe is the most unfriendly I have

ever experienced in the Caribbean. Homophobia is rapant and incredibly

strong everywhere you go and it just adds to the unwelcome feeling.

It's a little late for you, Rocky, but the very fair and gay-friendly Frommers Guide says:

Generally speaking, The Bahamas isn't a gay-friendly destination. If you're gay, think twice before choosing to vacation here. Although many gay people visit or live here, the country has very strict anti-homosexual laws. Relations between homosexuals, even when between consenting adults, are subject to criminal sanctions carrying prison terms. If you would like to make visiting gay beaches, bars, or clubs part of your vacation, consider South Miami Beach, Key West, or Puerto Rico instead.

Of course, the big resorts welcome one and all, even if forced to do so. For many years, the all-inclusive Sandals Royal Bahamian on Cable Beach refused to accept same-sex couples and booked only heterosexual guests. However, rights groups in Canada and Great Britain lobbied successfully, and the Sandals people found they could no longer advertise their resorts, and their discriminatory policies, in those countries. As a result, Sandals capitulated and ended its previous ban. However, gay and lesbian couples looking for a carefree holiday should seriously consider whether they want to spend their hard-earned dollars in a resort like Sandals that did not voluntarily end its ban against homosexuals until forced to do so by more liberal and far-sighted governments.

Hopefully, you have an attentive travelling companion in your cabin; otherwise, I urge to limit your "sightseeing" to its traditional form of touring historic houses and sites and the like. As by the posted advisements, do not going looking for "trouble" in the Bahamas as, in the event that you find it, the Bahamas can be a very unfriendly place for fellow travelers.

Why anyone would spend good money on a cruise experience only to find themselves seeking last minute Craiglist type hustler sex in a foreign port-of-call confounds everything I might know about life.

As someone below suggest..."Don't get off the ship"

Had you asked earlier...I might have suggested that you never got on the ship to begin with.

Safe travels to you.

I might also want to suggest this in the event that my last response was improperly taken.

Always know where you are going, before you get there. Once you are there, you are subjected to the most danger because you were unprepared for the environment which often times becomes your worst risk. And desire.

Think before you go, and think forward. It's the little head within you which just might ruin your vacation. And much more than that, in the end for you - everything.

Kyle K; well I guess I appreciate your comments particularly your clarification. However, I don't consider this forum to be a "craigslist" hustler sex venue. In fact I thought one reason for this site was to ask such basic questions; "hey, I"m going here or there any advice." I knew where I was going was not the Key West or Provincetown of the seas but thought maybe, just maybe of the thousands of "friends" on this site I might get some friendly advice, which I did. So, thanks Kyle K; I'm glad there are some family support persons out there.

Kyle - It sounds like you're describing Walt Disney World!

lord in heaven, give the guy a break. he's on a cruise.

no, bahamas aren't the most gay friendly, but you can still enjoy yourself. no open gay bars or strip joints, but the islands can be beautiful, the food good and the people very friendly. life is compromise at times- I hope you can enjoy what they have to offer without getting so wrapped up in labels.

as for taking your dollar where it's welcomed, that's mostly a fallacy. any business welcomes your money and can still hate you when you leave. happens all the time. that's the real world.
