"Actually, an apology isn’t a sentiment – it’s an act of contrition that comes from genuine remorse."

Whether it be BN or RL, the mea culpa should not be forced. JerkWood was right on this!

Greatest apology of all time has to be the Right Rev. jimmy Swaggart. After he tearfully apologized in front of the whole world in '88 then 3 years later he is caught with an escort girl in his car aND A STACK OF PORN UNDER THE SEAT IN PALM SPRINGS. The answer is that TIME TELLs ALL. If 6 months from now Rush is nice and still a changed man then maybe he is sincere. If my man Tiger Woods remains nice to his fans and more humble and has only one girlfriend instead of 18 then his apology was real. TIME WILL TELL. Unless we know ALL the facts we cannot judge......

Well we did go a whole weekend and everyone did Ignore the Cover Guy which I found very refreshing.

Now of course someone finds a reason to drag that Stage Name up. Thank You for bringing the discussion back to the original conversation Mikey!

I found it refreshing to see you post a whole message without using air quotes

No, it is a retraction framed in the form of an apology.

I just wish someone would have the courage to ask Mr. Bully: "so, why is she NOT a slut or a prostitute? You had me convinced with your argument—and now you're going to have to convince me the other side is true."

And of course, RL has now turned his apology into a soapbox-stance on hypocrisy among Democrats who have yet to apologize for their own off-color comments. How dare they not apologize as profusely and sincerely as has has done (aka: been forced to). Naturally, what RL doesn't take into account is that he would literally spend YEARS apologizing if he were to take his own comments seriously.
