Hi All...planning a meeting with a well-known escort (only the second time I'll have been with one) and wondering if I really need to be concerned or nervous about the get-together (giving out a room number and stuff like that). He is entirely respected, but I just want to know if police busts, etc., etc. are common or what the issues are, legally. I'm not an idiot, but want to be careful and not screw up. Obviously, I'm new at this scene and looking for reassurance. I know to be careful with money talk and all that, but what else can you all tell me?

Chances Are

The sun will come up tomorrow and the moon will rise tonight.

Not to be flippant, your concerns are very valid but in order for me or someone else to give you genuinely responsive information which may or may not assauge your concerns.

For example, which jurisdiction are we talking about? If you were in West Hollywood, I would personally state my opinion that you have no concerns. Likewise, for San Francisco.

Every city I have worked in, I have seen clients in hotel rooms registered in my name. In most instances, the risk was minimal, but in others (Las Vegas), the risk may have been greater.

This concern has been raised elsewhere on this forum. I am not the best person to technically advise how to do a search but hopefully someone else who views this thread will assist in that regard. I would also, above all else, discuss your concerns with your escort and get his perspective.

Good luck and I hope you enjoy this experience!

RE: Chances Are

It's unlikely you'd get busted by setting up an appointment with a well-reviewed escort. You're most likely to get arrested by picking up a street hooker or by responding to a local ad that the police are using to set up johns. Be very careful if an escort is working out of a motel. Police are most likely to set up sting operations in motels like Cross Country where the rooms open directly to the outdoors.

Also, the police have to get you talking about sex and money to make an arrest. Whether you're an escort or a client, this is what they must have in order to arrest you on any prostitution charge. Asking an escort or a client if they're affiliated with any law enforcement agency is useless, THEY(the Police)WILL LIE!

Unfortunately, not only will they lie about the fact that they

are police officers, they are also quite likely to lie about

what you said to them, So, while technically it's true that they have

to get you to solicit some kind of illegal act, in practice it

ends up being your word against theirs

The safest bet as a client is to hire a porn star. I can guarantee that no cop is going to star in porn movies in order to make a bust. The next safest is to hire someone who's been reviewed on this site by established reviewers. If you must hire someone who doesn't meet one of the above two categories, just make sure that you give the man a deep French kiss before you show any money or discuss any sexual activity. Otherwise you should just say no.

This is the primary reason that neither the escort nor the client should do the "money-up-front" thing. Money SHOULD NOT even be seen or talked about (I mean you did the email stuff, right?) until the party's over -- under cover police will not /can not go that far and certainly won't be having any gay sex just for a bust :+

This topic has come up in several threads that I have seen. It's true that an escort who has numerous reviews here in not likely to be a police officer. But in a couple of the other threads on this subject it has been mentioned that the police sometimes use 'informants' who are not police officers to set up a bust. These are often people who have been charged with a crime and are cooperating with police in return for leniency, and there is nothing to say that couldn't happen to a real escort. So the bottom line is, there are no guarantees. The only way to be 100% safe is not to do it at all.
