Recently I have noticed more and more escorts on Rentboy not including information on some of the pre set questions in their ads. Usually it is age, safe sex, drug use and smoking. Are they purposely not wanting to answer these questions? Is this a red flag for you? Are these questions you normally ask anyway?

In other words, with no answer - EXPECT THE VERY WORST. Then there are those who answer the questionaire based on their perception of a client's expectations, they may be bigger liars.

Sometimes, I will copy data to new ad on rentboy and oddly my age ends up as blank as well as other details. So if I forget to re-check it, it may appear as blank. So it may not be about hiding it.

At one point, I was putting sometimes safe to refer to oral. But then I was getting requests for bareback and had to change that out. I had to say sometimes safe didn't include bareback, but I just took it out all together.

I don't read too much into the unanswered questions. Sometimes the advertiser didn't pay attention to detail when he posted the ad or some such innocent mistake. If I'm interested in a guy and some of the unanswered questions are a concern to me, then I contact him and ask.. simple as that.

I too do not read too much into what is unanswered, although my tendency is to move on if certain areas are left empty.

 

For instance, I can tolerate a smoker, though do not want him to smoke in my hotel room or residence.

 

I can tolerate someone who drinks socially, but on a date, only if we are both drinking (and a guy who gets drunk... I move on).

 

On drugs - I am a ZERO tolerance guy here so I am often confused on RM when a guy will say "NEVER" to the question of drugs, and then in preferences write PNP -- which, if I am not completely crazy is for PARTY N PLAY in terms of drugs, right?

 

Fortunately, thanks to the ability in Rentboy to set aside your favorite guys, I tend do to various searches for escorts, and buddy list the ones who fit my criteria, and then check on reviews of them elsewhere and adjust the "saved ones" accordingly -- even going back now and then when someone makes a positive/nregative conment about a guy on my bucket list, I will re-evaluate him if the comment is negative.

 

I am extremely careful in anal sex, and so not as alarmed as some would be on whether or not the escort is POZ or NEG;

 

On the balance, Rentboy gives you the most options for filtering out who you may want or who you might reject. Sure it could be improved or tweeked but it is the best filter we have here in the US.

It is not a red flag for me. I do this thing I call "asking questions." Try it! It works.

Rentboy has recently revised their policies about what we can list in our ads. It only seems to affect people who are making changes/tweaks to their profile text...so if you have an existing ad from 2009, I doubt it kicks into effect. However, I've had Rentboy declining my ads recently- saying that I'm too descriptive as far as willingness to perform certain activities/sex. They insist that the only thing I've able to say is 'Any exchange of money is for time only', again and again. I hate that. I'd rather almost run the risk, tell them 'thank you for your concern'; and be as descriptive as neccessary to never lead people astray...
