A). I pay $525 each month for health insurance~

B). I invest diversely.

C). I declare everything and keep it all above board~ The gov takes quite the percentage~ I file quarterly. There is nothing illegal about being an Escort/Companion.

How do you file with the government/IRS when you do? I saw one guy mentioning using the code "9999" as Consultant. I'm curious about this when tax season does roll around here in a few months....

What do you mean "how do you file"? Self-employed individuals have been doing this since the IRS was invented.

A self-employed contractor who remodels kitchens files the same way a self-employed escort who swings from the chandelier. The list of deductible occupational expenses may differ, but the process of filing taxes is the same for the self-employed in all walks of life.

Yep. When I was a consultant doing grant writing and such, I just had to file as self-employed. The only tricky thing for me was projecting how much I thought I'd make in the coming quarter. I imagine it would be the same for anyone who's self-employed, escort or no.

In my experience, few "professionals" are prepare themselves for life after escorting. The one Bugatti Boy with whom I had a long association, not as a client but as a friend, ended his days in a somewhat run down shot gun house at New Orleans, the lover of a man who beat him to a bloody pulp on a regular basis; at the height of his popularity in the early 1980s, he had commanded a fee as high as $10,000 with an international clientele. "James Jordan", the delight of Atlanta's affluent fellow travelers at one time, retired to a "weekly rate" motel apartment in Ft. Lauderdale, and, eventually, washed out to sea on a tide of "bad dope". Always preppily dressed by Brooks Brothers, James's prop was the daily edition of the Wall Street Journal; he should have devoted some time to reading it. A "steady date" of my own, who reaped $100,000 and car from a client in south Florida in the course of one year's work, is, at forty-one, unemployed, penniless, and facing eviction from his apartment for non-payment of rent; presently, he peruses Craig's List for B&G hookups at whatever fee he can get. Fortunately, there are some "success stories": Jaime Lee, "The East Coast Boy", retired at the height of his popularity with money in the bank and a paid-off house, and, he is now living in comfortable retirement; "Kyle Gibson", yet at work, has a respectable portfolio in hand, and, title to a "sweet" little condominium unit in Los Angeles; "Jay Ganymede" and "The Cadet", too, "put away" some money from their earnings, and, by report, they are doing well in "real life" as men of the professions.

With that vast difference, I think Tyger pays on his own--no group discounts or contributory monies. Not being nosey, but is yours a group plan through an employer who pays a percentage in addition to a lower rate?

Boston Bill

No, it's a regular individual policy. I've had the same type of insurance since leaving the 9-5 and opening a business.

MAX, $150 for a single a month with BC/BS sounds unbelievable. It must carry a HUGE deductible, meaning there is co-insurance costs YOU are responsible for until you have met your deductible. I also have BC/BS, but as a flex spend plan that I actually fund. No office copays, but I am still spending MY money until i reach my deductible... and it is thru my business and THAT plan costs $300 per month for a single....

My insurance has a $2500 ded, with a drug card that kicks in after a $200 ded is met. I did that after calculating I didn't spend that much in drugs per year, and the ones I DO buy are available in generics and aren't expensive. It ended up saving me about $150+ in premiums last year, so in essence I got a month for free. I still have a $25 copay for doc visits, and if they give me a ref for a specialist, I think it's $50. I avoid the ER at all costs, because even with reg company insurance it was like $150 copay. I think mine would be $250 right now. After the ded is met, my plan pays 80/20 up to $5000, and then 100% after that, so my OOP max is $5000, which is manageable and expected for a catastrophic emergency. I did a LOT of research in comparing plans before I picked this one.

Thats a GREAT deal, especially for a plan outside of a group. Nothing like that being offered up to us New Yorkers..... In fact the group plan I am on with my company which I described just got a 47% increase in its administrative costs, and the alternative plan they offer if you want to switch out of that plan is DOUBLE the cost of it.....
