I have placed someone on my ignore list but they are still shown in the various forums. How does the list work?

Thanks for any help and/or explanation.

I am aware of the ignore option but haven't used it. Your question is a good one and hopefully one of the administrators can provide a good answer. If you don't see a post from one of them in the next day or so, I would email daddy with your question directly. Btw, I hope that I am not the person you want to ignore ;-)

This is my understanding:

If you place a screen name on ignore, you will not be able to see original posts initiated by that member.

However, if a second member qoutes the "ignored" member in a post, then you will still see the qouted text of the "ignored" member in the second member's post.

So the ignore feature is only 100% effective, if the no other other member qoutes the member you are trying to ignore.

Thanks Scorpio and Wayout. I have it working now. And Wayout, I have no need or desire to ignore you!!!!!

I have really benefited from using the "ignore" function as there are a couple of regular posters who seem to feel the need to comment in almost every thread, for no other reason than to see their name on the screen. Their remarks are usually just silly and inane, often mean spirited, and frequently seem to hijack the thread for no helpful reason. Their name still comes up, but their comments don't, unless they are quoted by another poster as noted above. There is an option under their name to "view post" for a one time view, if you think that a particular comment might be worth reading. You can also reverse the "ignore" selections if you change your mind, and then reinstate it when you realize that you still want to ignore them. It's definitely worth playing with, since it can be easily reversed with no effect on future threads.

Unlike other venues where if you put someone on your ignore list everything associated to that person vanishes ... name, posts, links, relationships to that person, etc.

Just followed the directions.

No, Kevin, neither you nor Deej is being ignored. You are much too much fun and Deej usually hits the nail right on the head.

Should not be difficult to figure out who I am ignoring. Multiple stupid posts and responses....about everything!

Best for the Holiday and New Year.

LOL. I'm sure most folks know who you're talking about. It's a shame the lengths some people will go to try and get attention

All the best for the holiday!!

Sure are. Thats why Other people tend to hang around here and continue to throw their veiled daggers. Those comments dont add much to the site either, do they ?

And Happy Holidays as well to those of YOU who have ongoingly sent me letters of support here. They certainly have helped encourage me.
