Hi ! I have decided that I want to be an escort. Can you give me some cons and pro ? Ofcourse, one of the main thing I am thinking about it how to be safe in terms of diseases ? I know I have to use condom for anal. I have remained an open option for the client for the oral to use condom or not. Can anyone tell me if all escorts can remain disease free for a long time or is it just not possible ?

I am really more curious as to HOW ones arrives at the decision to be an escort, only if you care to discuss it publicly here. If not I will understand.

But from reading your post, its kinda sounds like you woke up one day with this great idea, and I am sure thats NOT how it happened.... Just curious is all....

Good question about the STD'S If you are thinking of going into escorting just remember the clients pick you. there's a book if you can find it called The Male Escort's Handbook: Your Guide to Getting Rich the Hard Way. by Aaron Lawrence thats full of great advice. I even read it. There are also people that will judge you and look down on you for it. friends family might have a hard time if they find out. Know a good gay friendly lawyer just in case you ever get arrested. Be safe Be safe never do bareback sex regardless of how big the offer. Drugs stay away from drugs and do not abuse alcohol either.. Same thing that applies to my business applies to escorting as well do not book blocked calls matter of fact don't answer them. Always req a contact mobile number to finalize all appointments. Do not talk about sex acts and money in the same conversation. allot of this is in that book as well

90% of the "Working Guys" I have met over the year's decided to Go Professional AFTER they were told by many Sex Partners they were Hunks who were Fun and then ....they decided why not make $$ from doing something they enjoyed! BUT It is not a Profession for ALL!

you ain't kidding Aaron Lawrence isn't that great in the looks department. I saw one of his films and I was like what gives. He must really make up for it in personality

From what I understand, his ego was huge. He was O.K. in the looks department, but, as I understand it, was a go-getter in the performance department and tended to treat his clients well with lots of repeat business. Obviously, he did not age well as his glory days, as I understand it, were from his teens to his early twenties (or so)...

Aaron Lawrence was the reason Hooboy started the original escort review site. He'd had bad experiences and Lawrence was so far above and beyond anything else, HB wanted to celebrate it.

Education, education, education. Educate yourself and not just that, know your limits and where you will and will not go. Don't just rely on google, look to peer reviewed publications "pubs" they are, PEER REVIEWED, by others in their field to ensure thorough work and research is what is documented. Other than that, I would say, HEAVILY weigh the pro's and cons.. SERIOUSLY weigh them out and be very realistic.. If you come to a meeting ground that says.. YES, this is what I want/need to do... Congrats and welcome to the escorting community Coolguy!!!!!!!

Some good advice so far. Especially from Dane, having been there himself. Just a few random thoughts.

1. You don't say where you are located. Is there a market (well, duh?) and how is the competition. If you are in NY it can be rough. Are you in an area where they conduct police stings?

2. Are you comfortable with having sex with men of all different types: young, old, fit, obese, handsome, beauty-challenged, different ethnicities, married, bi-curious, gay. This is a key one. Can you relate to all these different types?

3. Are you prepared to deal with the different types of hirers? Guys who are only in it for the sex and will rip your clothes off before the door even closes. Guys who want to take their time and get to know you. Guys who are scared shitless at the thought of their first encounter with another man -- can you help them through it with patience and understanding?

4. You don't say what you bring to the table -- great body, twink look, DILF, big dick, voracious bottom, bdsm skills and interest. Know your market you are aiming for. What do you have to offer that would interest me, the client, in hiring you?

5. Decide on when and how to advertise. Make sure you have good pictures. At least for the crowd here on Daddy's self-pics don't really cut it as much. Maybe on A4A pro's site it might, again depending on your market and target audience.

6. Are you prepared to deal with the oddball requests the guys get. I hear about them. Some of them make me laugh, some make me shudder, some just turn my stomach. Guys into scat, want you dressed up in women's underwear, you name it, you imagine it (and even more than you can imagine), you will no doubt run into.

7. Dane is right about one of the most key decisions: know your limits and stick to them. If you are a top, refuse to bottom. Some guys look on it as a badge of honor to get a top to bottom for them. Will you/can you do in calls or strictly out?

8. Do you have a significant other? Are you interested or looking? Weigh your personal situation -- not just the monetary situation -- very, very carefully.

This really is a great question but something that I would think you should give considerable amount of time to weighing.

Aaron lawrence had a huge cock...and loved sex.....he treated men like kings.....excellent manners..a very nice guy..no inhibitions......but, yes, not handsome and not hunky

Aaron Lawrence, the 2 or 3 times I was with him, was a total prince. At the time he was slim and boyish, short, with a proportionately large cock and an insatiable love for physical contact and affectionate sex. Some of my peak escort experiences in the long ago were with him. And I read his book, which is full of sound advice and common sense. It was available from Amazon when it was new. I don't know if it's still in print, but if not there may be used copies floating around.

I'd be much more concerned about getting something from 1 person who trolls on free hookup sites and nightclubs then with even 20 clients who only play around occasionally outside of their monogamous relationships.

The 1980s image of strung out, diseased hookers is a bit outdated.

-- The U.S. Department of Health consistently reports that only 3-5% of the sexually transmitted disease in this country is related to prostitution (compared with 30-35% among teenagers). There is no statistical indication in the U.S. that prostitutes are vectors of HIV. Although a small percentage of prostitutes may be HIV positive, William Darrow, CDC AIDS epidemiology official, cites no proven cases of HIV transmission from prostitutes to clients.(8) -http://www.bayswan.org/stats.html

I decided to become a male escort after being told by my best friend (who was a female escort at the time) that there was money to be made selling my ass LOL.

Every Friday night, I would visit my bestest friend and we'd go into a suburb of Newcastle called Low Fell, it's a very middle class young area, lots of bars and restaurants. We'd get drunk and she'd tell me about who she had seen that week. She kept telling me about a number of bisexual clients she would see who had male to male fantasies when she was being their mistress. She told me that two of them had asked if she had any numbers of gay or bisexual escorts. Eventually she talked me into giving it a go. I took a few days off work and went to her house to see what it would be like.

I was very nervous on my first appointment, I fumbled a lot. It was a guy whose fetish was for me to fart in his face and have him lick my ass out after each fart. She'd made me a massive bowl of home made vegetable soup a few hours earlier, a sure fire way of creating wind. The appointment went very well. An unusual first appointment, no real sex involved and I was about £80 richer. Over the space of 3 nights, I made going on £500 which was a lot of money to me back in 1999. It was a third of my salary. I made that in 3 days seeing very pleasant gentlemen. Within 6 months I had quit my day job.

Staying disease free, well it's not hard. I've managed. I haven't done this constantly for the last 10-12 years, I still keep my hand in with a part time job and sometimes I take on extra work which means escorting takes a back seat, other times when I am slow (like now during a recession) then I crank up the escorting a bit.

About 3 years ago, a friend of mine in London, my gay scene sister when we were 18, got terminal cancer at the age of 40 in the form of a brain tumour, his partner was estranged and I spent 3 months in London and Brighton looking after him along with other friends, he had no brothers or sisters and his dad was in his 80's. I worked a little in Brighton when I was down there, I had to support myself somehow, I still had a house and bills to pay for back in Newcastle, even though I was living at his house on the south coast. I'd book a travelodge 2 days a week, it gave me a break from hospital visits and caring whilst other friends took over. I did incalls for 2 days solid a week, from the hotel and it kept me going nicely.

2 years ago though, disaster stuck, I went to the doctors for routine blood tests for my blood pressure and they detected liver problems. I had to have 6 months of intense treatment, I came out in a non contagious skin rash called Psoriasis and I gained 4 stone in weight because of being run down and the medication. This was at the beginning of the recession. I was really worried about money. Luckily I have another job. The reason I am telling you all this is because if you're going to go into this work full time, think of a back up plan if for some reason you can't work for 6 months. I managed to pull it off in Brighton but when I got the liver infection I couldn't work for 6 months, except for the odd regular who still wanted to see me, knowing I had a liver infection. No one wants 19 stone bloke with horrible skin for an escort. It took 6 months before I got it under control and able to work again and even then it was regulars only (the ones who sticked around) who seen past the weight and skin issues. It took me another 4 months to lose 4 stone (56 pounds) and I am the sort of body frame that can cope with weight gain easily.

It's not just sexually transmitted diseases you have to worry about in this work, it's staying financially solvent. I've got a doggie and 4 cats, someone has to feed them too and fresh air doesn't pay the bills.

Coolguy, you're right to be concerned about sexually transmitted diseases in this line of work. Wear a condom every time penetration is involved. Don't use alcohol or drugs when you have sex. Some people under influence lose their inhibitions and can't have proper judgement about safer sex.

And to respond your question: YES, it's possible to stay healthy and disease free for a long time in this profession.

Have you ever hired an escort? If you can come up with the money, I suggest you hire one, preferably from Rentboy who has reviews in Daddys reviews (link above). Would give you some idea what to expect and what clients expect.
