James Dean Nude (real or fake?)

Playgirl published this picture even though they remained dubious of it's authenticity. I just read in a bio that there was a gay priest who 'befriended' James Dean and took many personal photographs...I know it's all speculation and we'll really never know the whole story; so anyways:

If you look carefully, beneath that strategically placed Playgirl logo, I believe you can see Sal Mineo moving in to felch him.

Les, that photo has been in a number of different biographies of James Dean, and they all claim it is authentic. Unfortunately, I can't provide any references since I never actually read the books or noted the author's names

One of the books is Boulevard of Broken Dreams by Paul Alexander (Viking, 1994). The photo is near the end of the book.

So what? There's a really great photo I saw years ago of James Caan in his early days when he did nude modeling. They used to carry it at Baby Jane's in West Hollywood, but I haven't seen it there in years. Now that was a classic!

How could this be authentic? I heard he used to let guys put out cigarettes on his chest....I don't see any burn marks or scars....DID THEY HAVE PHOTOSHOP BACK THEN?
