I've wondered how long it would be before someone tries to use these things.

Take a look at the Terms of Service. You must be a "legal, recognized business" and they may request supplier invoices and such to verify. Individuals can only get an account if they are acting on behalf of an otherwise authorized business. This can all be worked around, of course. Masseurs with business licenses could probably use it.

The first time some john tries to dispute a charge from an escort there will be a witch hunt among their account holders to ferret out adult services, including massage, just as there was in the early days of PayPal, etc.

It's still a cash business.

reason I need something like this. I get clients sometimes that want to add more services or more time and can't because they only stopped off at the atm for the original agreed amount. on the down side this does leave a paper trail. i pay taxes so thats no issue on my side but I knew a guy once that went to a female masseur paid by credit card. she was later busted charged with prostitution. and they got a hold of her credit card records.

Escorts who accept credit cards would really be destructive to those clients that are "obssesive about hiring but really cant afford it. At least cash business forces them to have money in hand, regardless of how they get it. Credit cards would be like giving drugs to a drug addict....

lol that would be like blaming macy's or amazon for shopping addicts running up credit card debit

I have the square app for my "legit" business. No complaints about it. The transaction % is a little higher but no monthly merchant fees. They did not seem very concerned about what my business was, you just have to link to a verified bank account to accept credit cards.

That's why it's good to give options for amount of times that may be available.

Occasionally, I've gone with guys to the ATM to finish the transaction.

I couldn't do credit cards. That's almost as risky as checks. Chargebacks could occur, and plus that machine charges 2.75% of the amount. Imagine an overnight for $1,000-1,500. For as little as I would imagine a credit card would be presented, that's more money being taken. Money that could be used to pay for an ad somewhere.

Another reason is chargebacks. I worked on commission for a company for a short time. They claimed one of my sales charged-back so they couldn't pay me for it after they fired me. I ended up calling the D.O.L. and within 2 weeks had a check in the mail for the entire week and a half I worked there instead of just that 1 sale.

i offer a 60 minute session a ninety minute massage. its posted in all ads the rates. plus i tell them again on the phone. sometime they will book for 60 but once they get on the table will say they wished they had booked for 90 minutes. problem is they only brought enough money for the 60 minute session. i figured id give this a try. if i ever get a charge back ill stop using the service. 2.75% isnt really much money when it comes to a 75 or 100 massage. I could always charge 5.00 extra handling fee for those wanting too pay by card. sometimes ill take a check if they brought their checkbook so far in 11 years no ones check has ever bounced

squareup accepts credit cards, visa master card, discover, american express, debit cards, gift cards containing the master card or visa logo,

new members can only take in up to 1000.00 every 7 days in sales without going through an additional process. other wise anything over 1000.00 in 7 days is frozen for 30 days

I've used it with regulars with whom I have an established relationship. Otherwise, my pat response to the credit card question is "you can stick that credit card into any ATM in the world and get cash." I've received such wonderful responses as "but it's not mine" and "I'm over my limit." Thus the cash transaction.

I always just listed all sales on pay pal as just services. or gift or billed as yoga. never had a problem. but if they do find a link on an adult webpage they can close the accounts and will.. you can't use pay pal for adult products on ebay with it either. unless the seller arranged behind the scenes for it to be charged as something else
