Look at today's "3rd review" of Dolce Vita. If you click

on the link to his "Rentboy" ad, you get somebody else--

NYC Squirt:

http://www.rentboy.com/Listing.aspx?lu=DOLCE

The handle of the 3rd reviewer is close to my own. I looked him

up, and is not a registered member of this website. I thought you

had to register with "Daddy's Review" to provide a review.

Is this wrong?

I saw "Dolce Vita" and his body is nothing like that of those

fake pictures. He was a very nice and polite person, but not

a physique model. The 2nd review is mine, and I also discussed

him in a separate thread. I gave my opinion separately that the

FIRST review is a fake. After that, "Dolce Vita" stopped giving

"Daddy's Review" as a reference for reviews in his ads. Now he

may continue.

Another forum member was also in touch with ANTHONY DICARLI,

who also had fabulous physique photos on Rentboy. He is also discussed separately. He asked Anthony why he had no reviews. He was told, "I asked people not to post reviews because I am not a professional escort." This is after posting full-front physique photos on "Rentboy" for months, including special banner advertising.

I double-checked the rules for submitting a review. Here is the link:

Your "Handle" is required. Apparently, the submitted "Handle" may not be cross-checked against registered handles. Possibly the programming requirements might be prohibitive.

DADDY, CAN YOU HELP US UNDERSTAND? HOW CAN WE HELP?

against "Handles" that are actually registered.

I don't blame you.

From my viewpoint, escorts who use fake pictures and then show

up at one's doorstep seem to rely on the client's unwillingness to

start a conflict. If this happens a lot, they (the fakers) are no

better than common break-in thugs.

No, you don't have to register your handle to submit a review. You have to provide a "Handle" when submitting a review but that is as simple as filling in a blank. It is in no way registered. Lots of posters on MessageCenter admit to posting reviews under a different handle than they register on the MessageCenter.

The Message Center and the Reviews are separate.

Many thanks for the explanation. Can you help me understand why

posters need or want to posting reviews under a different "handle"?

I don't understand why an application form requires filling in a blank

where the input information can be just "anything." It does not make sense

to me, other than making it as easy as possible to submit reviews. Maybe

that is necessary for other reasons, but I'd like to understand why.

Oh, here is the link for Anthony "I am not a professional escort" DiCarli:

As I have said many times before, the client here needs to take some responsibility too. If he allows himself to be scammed just to avoid a possible conflict, then so be it. That has never happened to me, as I always stand my ground and send them away if they are not as "advertised", which includes claiming they have a 10" cock, which somehow becomes 6.5" when they arrive. (yes we have gotten to the reveal point, and then I kick them out).

The worst I have gotten as they exit is "fucking asshole"..... as I check on the $300 still in my pocket....

The most common reason that I've seen given for separate handles is anonymity. It allows the poster to not be harassed in the message center if someone takes exception to his review.

I haven't submitted a review in a long time, but the submission form used to say to use the same handle each time that you submitted a review. It made the verification process easier for first HooBoy and now Daddy. And in old variations of the software, there used to be simple ways to search for reviews by reviewer.

I can't speak for Anthony DiCarli but in my experience there are lots of very legitimate escorts, that if asked, prefer not to be reviewed. I can't quantify it but I would say a majority of the escorts out there don't even know about this site until someone decides to review them.

Some clients will absolutely not hire without a review that's their choice. I can think of at least a half dozen very wonderful guys that I would have missed out on meeting and spending time with had I always taken that approach. And most of those guys preferred not to be reviewed.

Mr. DiCarli seems to be a particular obsession of yours, nothing wrong with that, as we all have things that push our buttons. But with some escorts, you're never going to know for sure unless you take them for a test drive yourself. But you have to be willing to walk away if the escort has misrepresented himself. Reviews, while a useful tool at times, guarantee nothing more than a recounting of a particular persons experience at a particular point in time.

Excellent, wonderful information.

This is all very much appreciated.

I can say I was "enthralled" with Mr. DiCarli's pictures, and I guess that indeed

is a form of obsession, and unwanted at that.

Your note that certain escorts prefer not to be reviewed in intriguing. I hope

it is OK with you that I pose that question on the separate forum for "Asking an

Escort."

With deepest appreciation again,

Interesting thread! Perhaps the escort in question (Dolce Vita) follows this board - the link no longer works (for me), so I assume the ad was taken down.

As for 'handles' - BC, have you googled your MC handle? Fascinating to see how much can be learned about 'bcohen7719'. Of course, it's not easy to tell how many different people use that handle on one platform or another.

Many posters prefer to keep their identities as reviewers and as participants here separate, for various reasons. For some, this is primarily a social club, and they don't want other members to be intimately aware of their hiring activities. Others don't want the escorts they review to know their identities as posters here. Some have more than one identity/handle even on the MB (to express different sides of their personality? maybe...). When this site was new, I was inexperienced with the conventions, and used several different handles for my reviews. Since my email address was listed on my profile for a long time, I sometimes used a different handle for the review when I didn't want further contact from the escort. To the best of my knowledge, there has never been any requirement that a reviewer's handle match anything in the MB, since many reviewers never even read the MB, much less participate actively in it.

I posted reviews prior to posting on the forum. By the time I started posting on the forum, my review handle was being used by someone else as their forum handle. Rather than starting fresh under a new review handle and lose history, I kept reviewing under one handle and posting under another.

You may want to review the Terms of Service.

RELATIONSHIP TO REVIEW SITE

The Message Center is provided as a public service to the Escorting Community and is operated independently of the Review Site. The views expressed in the Message Center are wholly those of the members who post them and do not necessarily reflect the views, opinions, policies or procedures of the management.

Discrepancies such as a Escort having two review pages should be reported directly to Daddy so that they don't get buried deep in a thread.
