Yes I saw this news story some time in early to mid July. One of the reports I read at the time indicated it would take 10-15 years to spread around the world from Japan. That surprised me as I would have expected it to spread around the world much quicker than that. We all need to keep a watchful eye on this.

The Neisseria gonorrhoeae H041 resistant strain seems to be more typical in Japan where it emerged. There is incidence of it in Europe too~

So I'm reading this thread yesterday morning and realizing how sore my throat feels. A few months back I met this hot neighbor, early thirties, who likes a late night blow job as much as I like giving one. I search the web for gonorrhea symptoms. 7-14 days average to show up. Great. Went to the G&L Center STD Clinic to get blood work and a throat swab. Haven't had to go to a place like that in years. Won't find out for a week. LA and Japan fuck eachother everyday and this has made me very paranoid.

Well you may have picked up gonorrhea or chlamydia in the throat. My understanding is that gonorrhea of the throat is very hard to diagnose. The throat swabs are quite unreliable. Did they go ahead and give you the gonorrhea injection and also the pills for chlamydia? If they did, and if your symptoms ate gone in 3-4 days, you probably don't have the drug resistant strain. Not that there is much chance that you picked up that strain in the first place. I do not think it has appeared in th US yet. Relax. I think you'll be fine.
