>Relaxation may be your problem.

Gee - he's having trouble falling asleep - you think stress might actually have something to do with it? Who says escorts are stupid and do nothing but spew cliches?

>Without sounding too New

>Age-y, try yoga.

You actually think it's possible to recommend that someone "try yoga" as a remedy for sleep depravation "without sounding too New Age-y"? That's like recommending lynchings without sounding too "racist-y".

>Take a class and use it at sleep time.

So, as he's laying in bed, hopelessly tossing and turning, he should stand on his head and mutter? I'm sure that will put him right to sleep.

>As others have suggested, a sleep

>disorder center can diagnose sleep apnea; don't rule it out.

So you recommend yoga, sleep disorder centers, sex, and an examination for sleep apnea? Is there anything you don't recommend for this gentleman's problem?

> Another thing I've found is that cumming (or, preferably,

>having someone make me cum) at bedtime makes me sleep like a

>baby. And having that person to hold onto makes it even

>better. }>

Oh - that's helpful. "Sleep problems - no problem - just go get a lover."

If I were you, I would keep selling that cock of yours - neither a medical degree nor a syndicated column replacing Ann Landers is in your future, I can assure you, Derek.

What an absolutely obnoxious, worthless post. x( As I read it in the moderators' queue, I so wanted to delete it because it is idiotic and so mean-spirited. But alas, it broke no rules.

A guy asked a question, and Derek added his answer. Nothing wrong with his reply at all. You, on the other hand, are obviously an asshole, and have nothing better to do than serve up this tripe.

Thanks for this post. If I had to read one more post about the Houston Whores' Defense Fund, I was going to projectile vomit into my computer screen; and it's brand new and is doing a great job of finding hot and hung Brazilian studs to pound my ass.

Later.

PS. DickHo, your German recommendation, Sven, was big fun. Operative word being big. And I've done nasty Joao three weeks in a row now. Get to it my man.

He left out "Read any and all posts by 'hotforjocks.'" :p

I don't see where Derek said to "get a lover"...he said that for him, having someone to hold onto after they make him cum makes him sleep like a baby. You've never heard of overnight escort appointments, hotforjocks? I can see you are having trouble distinguishing between lovers and escorts...but since that topic has been rehashed here numerous times, I recommend you check the archives & seek the help you need. :+ Oh and by the way...nice to have you posting again.

I doubt anyone wants to hear my thoughts but here it goes...

- Dont ingest sugars or caffeine within 4 hours of sleep time. Look at all the ingredients. You would be surprised whats in soft drinks.

- Moderately to vigorously exercise or workout about 3 hours prior to sleep time.

- Review your daliy eating and drinking habits and change the routine for a week but only change one item at a time.

- Do you have any other medical problems which may interfere with sleep? Reflux, Headaches, allergies, etc ?

- Try one Tylenol PM tab and if necessary, increase to 2.

- What is going through your mind when attempting to sleep? Tomorrows schedule? Finances? Cock? elationships? RDeal with it.

- Sleep apnea as many mentioned here could be a problem. Do you snore? have you read abou the Cpap machine and laser/surgical procedures to eliminate or minimize snoring? Is your pillow too firm or high? Is the bedroom too warm or cold ?

- What vitamins, other supplements and medication are you taking and when are you taking them? You would be surprised as to how much of this can interfere with sleeping.

- Beware of Melatonin - recent research has indicated its not cracked up to be what most of us think it is.

- Have sex before retiring for the nite. That could release alot of pent of energy. Go to sleep with a smile. If your not sleeping with a partner, then jerk yourself off but spend 20 minutes working yourself over instead of a fast 3 minute climax.

- read a really boring book while laying in bed with the lites as low as possible. Put the lite and TV on a timer so it shuts off within 90 minutes after falling asleep.

- buy a mini water fountain or something that produces white noise to muffle out any potential distacting outside sounds.

- Think fantasy when going to bed. Think about the 40th floor 4000 sq feet penthouse you want to buy overlooking NYC's Central Park. Or the 40 acre farm you want to buy and staff with house boys. Think about a future vacation. Go to bed witha smile.

- Determine from the recent past what your average nitely amount of sleep time is necessary and try to maintain a good sleep schedule.

- Review all the other stuff you may do like poppers, viagra, other meds, whatever. They are not helping your sleep.

ok,,,, this list is by no means all-inclusive but for the sake of "putting too many of you to sleep",

Im stopping here.

get the pun ?

if not and your grumbling at my candid post, then bite me hard.

Of course we want to hear your thoughts. I hope you're just being modest when you say that. You wrote a really great post (and I'm going to try some of your suggestions; I have trouble sleeping sometimes, too) but even if it weren't, I hate it when I hear that people sometimes don't post for fear of boring others, or of being attacked (even if it's all anonymous). I enjoy reading (OK, skimming, too :p ) everything here, and I hope more lurkers continue to come out (you know what I mean).

I saw this when it was first posted and thought "Gee, that guy has the same problem I have". I didn't respond because there seemed to be plenty of good options given by other posters. Then today, it appeared the thread had wandered somewhat, so here is my too sense worth. I have trouble staying asleep. It first started because of allergies. I would get to sleep fine, but would wake up a few hours later coughing from the draining of the sinuses. My doctor started me on allegra not allegra D, pointing out that the D stood for decongestant and would likely keep me awake. (same for Claritan D). As time went on and other problems arose (like stress and depression) the allegra was no longer enough. My doctor started me on a Rx for Temazapam like the orginal post, but at 30mg because I am a big guy. Fortunately my doctor has always trusted me not to do anything foolish and has never hesitated to give me 5 or 6 renewals with each Rx. I have used this Rx for over two years without any side effects or dependency. (and before any of you contrarians can jump on and say that "two years constitutes a dependency" I have frequently and voluntarily not taken the Rx just to assure myself I wasn't addicted and am satisfied I am clean). The problem for the poster seems to me to indicate a lack of trust between the doctor and himself. I would strongly urge you to ask your doctor on your next visit what he is hesitant about. It is a known fact that sleep deprevation causes many more harmful conditions than repeated use of Rx's for sleep disorders. Discussing the trust issue with your doctor may bring about a better understanding between the two of you until the condition improves. Good luck.
