OK, here goes, a total vent.

I, as a Newbie, would like to respectfully ask Members not to 'review' posts instead of Escorts. I appreciate that those of you with literary OCD will be unhappy, but as long as I can grasp the gist of a post, I don't much care about the prose.

I'm a reasonably fast touch-typist, and tend to post in a stream-of-consciousness way. I then have two hours to get under the wire and edit.

If you want to attack me for getting an apostrophe in the wrong place, no problem. Feel free. I have the hide of a rhino. Just don't post it publicly. PM me.

A fellow Newbie contacted me to say he wasn't comfortable about starting a thread here. Why? Because he felt you needed a First Class (With Honours) OxBridge Degree (Ivy League is Second Class!) before you can.

If you hold such views, you won't bother me, as I don't view the Board as a fart-a-thesaurus competition. However, the younger generation might. I recently, and by accident, posted a completely incomprehensible dung-hill of a public message. I was fortunate that Gcursor (who gives GREAT friend!) sent me a PM, chiding me gently. Unfortunately, I was outside the two-hour rule, so it'll have to remain here, probably for posterity.

I love this Board for its' basic premise (I've been aware of it since the days of dial-up!), and then the in-house jokes (which I didn't 'get' a month ago), the teasing, hijacking (of which I recognise I'm guilty, and promise to try harder in future), etc.

But I'd like you guys to try harder too, if someone doesn't use the return key, is it such an issue? Oh, and by the way. It's not a return key, it's a carriage-return. :p

OK, rant over. I'm off to bed, butch chickens await. I hope. :D

You realize, of course, that you have just done what you asked others to not do, don't you? However, point taken AND it has been made before. :)

Best regards,

Except that he did not target a specific posting or person; it wouldn't have been practical for him to send a private message to every user

on the system who behaved in this fashion.

So, under the strictest interpretation, it wasn't completely hypocritical for him to criticize *aspects* of some other postings here.

I, as a Newbie, would like to respectfully ask Members not to 'review' ...

Hmmm, not sure that "Newbie" warrants a capital letter

...unhappy, but as long as I can grasp the gist of a post, I don't much care about the prose.

and shouldn't the first comma follow, rather than proceed, "but" ?

If you hold such views, you won't bother me, as I don't...

Is the second comma really necessary?

I can't fault you for jamming all those side comments between sets of parens and stuffing them all through your sentences as I am guilty of the same sin. Still some self-restraint would be appreciated. Oh, and the "its'" doesn't require an apostrophe...at least on this side of the Atlantic.

Love your latest RentBoy pic. Glutes but remember, some of us are old hands at hiring. We know you're probably going to turn up looking 10-years older in the flesh! :(

I think you mean "precede," but I don't want to interrupt you, so please proceed.

Nice catch, Rick, I missed that one. That is, Nice catch, Rick; I missed that one.

Going back to the OP, "I, as a Newbie, would like to respectfully ask Members not to 'review' posts instead of Escorts." To split them or to not split them, that is the question.

Any chance of convincing you that that was a typo?

It never occurred to me before, but I see from your posts you're trying very hard. I'm certainly convinced you're British.

KMEM,

I was in the wrong. I shouldn't have referenced your post. It was hypocritical of me. I hope you'll accept an apology.

Sorry. :o

All y'all should go back and reread all this dribble. Too much time on your hands - collectively.

Oh well, there's always my whittling to tend to.
