The Death of the * Fag Hag *

If anyone should ever write my life story...for whatever reason there might be...you'll be there between each line of pain and glory..cuz your the best thing that ever happened to me..

 

 

I heard this term "Fag Hag" a few days ago in conversation. I realized that I hadn't heard it in quite some time. I had my very own( or what I think a Fag Hag is) and we remain very close to this day even tho I don't request her services anymore.

 

"Fag Hag" can mean many things to different people...What is the universal definition of a "Fag Hag"? Did you guys have your very own and are you still close to her?

 

Do you think the "Fag Hags" have earned their spot in Gay History or are they all but a forgotten dedicated breed.

 

I salute all the "Fag Hags".. for saving many an ass;-)

I think surely the queen mother of all fag hags has to be Elizabeth Taylor. Unlike, say, Liza Minelli, Elizabeth seems to understand the difference between straight and gay. So, while she marries primarily straight men, she remains best buddies with her gay circle - Montgomery Clift, Rock Hudson, Roddy McDowell, Michael Jackson and innumerable behind the scenes show biz workers.;-)

Agreed! Though some a str8t friend of mine said that someone who sleeps with or dates gay men like Liza is a fag hag, but someone like Liz is a "fruit fly." I think this was just her weak attempt to coin a new phrase.

 

I always thought that fag hag was utlitarian and covered both.

LOL, I added the word 'primarily' because I once read rumors about Richard Burton and I thought someone would call me on it!

So many of my friends are straight women, I wonder if I've become a Hag Fag?

I always question "close friendships" between movie stars. Roddy McDowell was certainly a close friend of Elizabeth Taylor. I am not so sure about the others. If Jackson is in truly a close friend, she has not had much efect on his weird behavior.
