I love Douglas Adams everything from "Hitchhiker's Guide" to "Teatime of the Soul" and all the other absurdity. By the way, according to Mr. Adams, finding a lost cat may save the universe so keep an eye out.

In case anybody needs me (and nobody will notice anyway), I won't be posting as much between now and the end of eternity on Saturday because I am in an "undisclosed location" (YES..THAT undisclosed location that Cheney used to use) waiting out the Rapture.

A while back there was a made-for-movie TV with a story of intentional but effective dreaming written by the Science Fiction author Ursulla K. LeGuin ... at one point in the movie, everybody wakes up a shade of grey and race has disappeared as an issue.

 

I think one of the implications of the story was "if the world were but a stage and the men who walk upon it actors" , we wouldn't know, would we...

 

[since I'm dating myself since nobody is at the moment, LeGuin's daughter is a cellist, a very fine one, and we played in the Portland Junior Symphony at the same time. I didn't know back then how famous her mother was ...]
