I know this has been partly presented in other threads-- but if you are following the Real World wouldn't it be fanstastic if the little brooding closet case Michael could have his first time with Dustin--on camera no less. I am amazed the same hypersensitivity that is shown to racial issues doesn't even begin to apply to the gay issues for Dustin. It might as well be a case of the small pox for cast members-- of course not next week when two of the girls are macking it up in front of everyone--something that Dustin could never do on the UnReal World camera!

I haven't watched it, so I don't know Michael. But I thought Dustin reports himself as being straight. And that the only reason he did the porn was for money. In the past I would have been more suspicious. But with all the Sean Cody, and Randy Blue websites-- well I don't think everyone who claims to be straight is straight-- but I'm thinking some of them could be. Devon Hunter in one of his blogs said one of his scene partners was actually straight.

Straight... Seems like the expanded definition of "Straight" is "Straight to Bed". I could be wrong... that just seems to be my own personal experience. Nothing wrong with it... that's an observation and not a judgement.

Lots of gay porn workers don't like or won't work with "Gay for Pay" guys because the "gay for pay" guys put the message out that even though they are sucking cock and taking it up the butt, they AREN'T fags, queer, gay, homos... NOT ONE of THOSE guys~

They see it as a bit of not so subtle discrimination.

Once after filming on the same set with Mike Roberts, I walked up to him and tried talking to him to get a better sense of him and see if he might be good to cast in one of my movies. I asked him if he would like to meet after filming one night. He said no, he was an ex-marine with a girlfriend and just doing this for money and that he doesn't hang out with gay guys. It was a bit disconcerting.

My partner and I watch it, as do several of our friends.

 

I have often used it for discussion groups with high school and college youth, though the earlier years were much better for that type of viewing and discussion.

I ended up on the MTV Channel during the Real World "Character's" visit to the Venice Canal Ride. Me thinks Dustin "doth protest to much" about sitting in a gondola with another guy!

He was also an idiot. Hanging out with you is always a treat and it has absolutely not one damned thing to do with whether you are gay, straight or somewhere in between.
