FYI...I'm not sure how many people saw this so I'm posting it here.

Jordan Jaric recently had a life-changing serious operation and is asking for assistance with the medical bills. Anyway I've done what I can and am posting this here for anybody who wants to do the same:

roughly speaking

rough thumbnail...

Gay film actor. used to be a part of the power couple (Aden & Jordan Jaric) that was all the rage (Aden & Jordan Jaric). Had a clause in their contract (with FALCON) that they would never have sex with anybody else but each other in videos. They have since separated.

Aden And Jordan

Pardon me but who is Jordan Jaric?
Posted

it's real

Because it's on his TWITTER account and all over the gay websites...do a google search and you'll see how many hits you get

p.s. and it might be a scam still but this would then mean that it's a fraud perpetrated by multiple individuals but I mean why would they bother doing that along with the photos they took and everything else.

p.p.s. I'll give you three links that you can check out and decide for yourself if it's real...

How do you know it's not a scam? I am sorry to be so cynical ... but I think it's a fair question

Baron, that same thought crossed my mind. A healthy dose of caution is reasonable when someone you don't personally know is asking for money to be sent to them via PayPal. If it is not a scam and is indeed true, I wish a speedy recovery for Jordan.

Here are links to Jordan's Facebook and MySpace pages where his recent "brain surgery" is mentioned:

1. The story is true because it's posted on his Twitter account ... huh wha?? I could post on my Twitter account that the sun rises in the West. It doesn't make it true.

2. If you do an internet search on Jordan Jaric and brain surgery, true, a lot of links by multiple individuals do pop up. But note all the stories on various gay websites originate from the same "source," Jaric himself. There is no independent verification.

I'm not saying with any certainty that this is a scam. Maybe the young man, without insurance, is indeed suffering from a brain abscess. Conversely, there is nothing that indicates that it's legit. Tweets from his Twitter account, posts on his Facebook and Myspace pages, and various gay websites that are simply parroting Jaric's story are proof of nothing. Maybe it's a scam perpetrated by a young man who got tired of doing porn but enjoyed the lifestyle that it paid for. As much as I hate to be cynical (living in Las Vegas will do that to you), there is simply no way of knowing one way or the other.

If indeed true, I am sorry for his situation and illness. The business/ healthcare part of me is wondering where he could get brain surgery for $2000 in the US. The expense involved for a biopsy and any type of endovascular intervention would be upwards of $100K. Not to be a cynic, but something does not ring true to me.

He posted a few pictures of himself in the hospital before and after surgery. His after surgery looks don't look too good. His eyes were swollen and all. So this could possibly be true.

picking apart the details

Okay...yes everybody is right. You should be cautious in giving money as with all things. However I'm seeing that most of these postings are slightly slanted towards disbelieving (with the occasional exception of "if it were true then...")

so with the thought of these negative comments then what will happen if we find out that it's true? then what action will be taken? it seems a bit harsh and cold is all.

i, for one, am always looking for scams myself (computer and otherwise) so I understand people hesitating (and that's cool) but people seemed to pick this topic apart.

My apologies for overlooking the most important part of your thread with my cynicism - something was important to you, you care, and you did something to show you care. Very admirable in my book and all to often not seen, regardless of the issue. Jordan is a lucky guy because of it and I wish you both well.

I'm agreeing with you, gcursor. I'm surprised myself with the multitude of postings going towards the same direction. What about the "benefit of the doubt", guys?

I don't wish even my worst enemy a situation similar to the one Jordan is going through. I wish him well.

Steven, how much did you donate to Jordan Jaric?

Steven was merely pointing out how cynical many posters have become when faced with a sad story....It has nothing to do with donations etc.....I have to agree that this post had more negative responses than sympathy....I can say that and not feel compelled to donate....

Good wishes are not expensive to offer...All that I am saying....

If good wishes, prayers, and support were all that Mr. Jaric were asking for, you wouldn't find a single doubter on this board. But he's not, is he? He is asking for MONEY, hence the cynicism. In fact, the link through his MySpace page makes it very easy to donate via PayPal.

If Steven is going to criticize me for my cynicism, then I think it's fair to ask how much he donated. If he has no doubts about the veracity of Mr. Jaric's plight, then surely a nominal donation would be in order. In fact, for a traumatic medical condition that incurs $100K+ of medical bills with no insurance, why doesn't Steven do his own little fundraiser and donate all the proceeds from his next appointment to Mr. Jaric? I mean, if he really cared ...

Respect and understanding

Okay...let's be nice.

My intent in posting was not to determine who was or wasn't donating. It was simply to inform.

I let each person determine the truth made by its claim and made no claims one way or another although I strongly leaned towards believing it but that's my opinion which I purposefully left out of the initial posting.

The one thing that I do advocate is : respect. So respect the feelings of others and respect what people say but let's not get into a "turf war" about who has contributed the most money to which causes and why they came out on top. We can set up another posting labeled how much money I gave this year to charities if we feel the need to do that.

gcursor, there's something else involved here: personal responsibility

To reiterate, perhaps Mr. Jaric really is suffering from a brain abscess, or perhaps it's a scam to bilk good-hearted people out of their hard-earned money. Again, there is no way of knowing because there is no independent verification (and no, that pic of Jaric with bandages on his head does not qualify as "proof"). If you are going to disseminate information of Jaric's situation, then you are in part (even if it's a small part) responsible for the fund-raising effort. If it turns out that Jaric's plight is legitimate, then you've done a good deed. But if it's a scam, then you have aided and abetted criminal fraud.

I did not ask how much Steven contributed to charity overall. Certainly, that is none of my business. I asked how much he contributed to this one specific cause, something for which he criticized me for having doubts about. And what is this steaming pile of cowplop about money not being the issue? What if I hired Steven and when he tried to collect, I told him that he has my good wishes, prayers, and support but that I'm not giving him any money? Absolutely, this young man has my prayers for what he's going through. But because some details about all this make me uneasy, I am not giving him any money.

Respect that.

I'm currently running a scholarship fund over on Flirt4Free for several deserving university students in St. Petersburg. Does that count?

One can maintain respect of another's opinion yet be critical of it at the same time. He criticized me (or us "cynics" at least), and I criticized him. Since when did disagreement and respect become mutually exclusive? If you want to speak for yourself, then go ahead. But I'll wait to hear Steven's response (that darn time-zone thing).

What's the history of Jordan's posts on Facebook/Twitter? If this is for real, there would be months of posts behind this. Presumably, someone who was sick would first post about finding something unusual or getting an unusual result at a routine test. Then, there would be a post about positive results, and then more about the decision about treatments.

The above wouldn't guarantee that Jordan is for real; a good con artist could fake it. But the likelihood of this being a scam goes up if that history is NOT there.

If Jordan is indeed sick, I wish him a speedy recovery and hope that he can get the funds he needs--whether from his friends or from family.
