One can maintain respect of another's opinion yet be critical of it at the same time. He criticized me (or us "cynics" at least), and I criticized him. Since when did disagreement and respect become mutually exclusive? If you want to speak for yourself, then go ahead. But I'll wait to hear Steven's response (that darn time-zone thing).

 

I stand corrected. I was just upset that gcursor was trying to do a good thing and ended upsorry he posted...while that is the perogative of all the posters here, I felt bad....

Please tell me, where did Steven criticize you? I don't see it anywhere on this thread. Steven doesn't even mention the word cynic in his post. You obviously took something in Steven's post personally (which was your doing and completely unnecessary) and decided to attack him. If you want to lecture us on responsibility, take your own responsibility and offer Steven an apology.

 

The way I see it, BSR, you are a cynic, and one with little respect.

 

The expense involved for a biopsy and any type of endovascular intervention would be upwards of $100K.

 

And who among us has health insurance that pays 100% of every expense? Who among us has unemployment insurance that pays weekly while we can't work? Who among us has family and friends who can pay our bills while we recuperate from major surgery?

 

If a porn actor is going to ruin his career, would he pick BRAIN SURGERY as his choice of scam? I think not. It's a lot easier to prove that someone didn't have brain surgery than it is to prove he had it.

 

This thread reveals some sorry-ass, brain-dead attitudes among us. Jordan Jaric isn't the only one who needs brain surgery. Living a life in porn, when an actor rarely uses his birth name, is not an easy, normal life. When things go wrong, I mean seriously wrong, it's very difficult to reach out to fans and ask for financial help. For many, I'll bet it's their only hope for assistance.

 

Many gay men are sensitive to all aspects of our challenging lifestyle. Many will donate simply because a need has been stated and some guys appreciate what porn actors do (at great risk) for our sex lives. When Daddy needed money to save his house, did the cynics ask for his foreclosure notice before they would agree to donate? Those who appreciate Daddy's service to us all, donated without a peep. They didn't care about the actual details surrounding the need.

 

I've always said this board should institute a membership fee so the cheap bastards in life can go play where the cheap play.

I choose to believe Jordan is telling the truth. If I get taken because of that choice, so be it. Been called foolish before and will be again.
