Are escorts just mere actors?

The ancient Greek word for an "actor," ὑποκριτής (hypokrites), means literally "one who interprets";[2] in this sense, an actor is one who interprets a dramatic character or personality. (from wikipedia)

Escorts and actors do have parallels:

- all perform and entertain

- some are worthy of Broadway, some should never go on stage

- some are good, some bad, some are truly award winning. Some are clearly Hollywood has-beens

- some boost their rate after a glowing review from a critic

- some have fans (fanatics) who fly them around on private (PUBLIC charter) jets to curry favor

- some cooperate / collaborate on certain productions

- some get out knives to slit the competition for gaining their next role

- some have problems with fame, fortune, drugs and gambling

Just some glutes observations, no judgements. I open it up to the Message-Forum!

well I believe that escorts can be many things.. Therapist, healer, stress reliever, actor, companion, communicator, counselor, listener, traveler and etc.. But at the end of the day they also go back to their home where their loved ones are as we do. They are no different from people engaging in other professions.

I agree Greatness. I have connected in the past with a couple escorts that have more than acted as a therapists and wonderful listeners. One in particular, was there when I lost my other half to cancer. He went way beyond the play for cash, and was and is a genuine friend.

That's so sweet..

CF, I'm sorry for your loss. But I'm glad that there was someone to comfort you.

This was the precise topic of a recent conversation with an escort - and yes he viewed it as being on stage. The longer the booking (overnight, weekend, multiday) the toughter to stay in character.

Sometimes the escort is not "in character" and genuinely cares about the "client" as in CF's post. I know of one such escort who goes beyond the expectations normally held for an escort.

I think he would want his good deeds to go unknown to the general public. I do not feel free to share at this point.

Bottom line, there are some great guys out there where escorting is more than just an act or job.

Aren't we all merely actors?

I think it takes fantastic acting skills too do it. anyone could build up a great body, Lots of guys have big dicks. But imo acting skills is what keeps some from being able too do it

I have to agree that ALL of us are actors to a greater or lesser degree depending on what career we choose to follow. I was a public high school teacher for thirty plus years. Every GOOD teacher MUST be a full time actor everyday of his or her career.

AGREED Greatness, I'd like to call this "well rounded." As it's been said multiple times now on here, we are all actors of some sort and all of us facilitate a role, a position, and a need whether in corporate america or in our private, or not so private lives. It is a matter of conscious that determines the good and bad part of this attribute.

All the world's a stage,

And all the men and women merely players:

They have their exits and their entrances;

And one man in his time plays many parts,

His acts being seven ages.

As the OP seeing the various remarks here, I feel that escorts are actors with a very special skill set.

Hats off to them, they are hardly 'mere'.

The phrase ``being an actor'' suggests deliberately creating an impression of one's behavior or attitudes that is different than one's self-image.

I really try not to do that, or only to the extent that it necessary to getting along - e.g. biting my tongue and making an effort to be diplomatic

and logical when in work or rehearsal situtations where my ideas are totally dismissed and I'm totally p.o.'d.

Tyger just summed it up wonderfully; bravo!
