Does anyone advertise on it? The site has gotten progressively worse and in all the months I've used it I can count the number of clients I've met from there. Which isn't much. You used to be able to say anything and post any type of photo. So far I just recently put an ad up this week and every person who has called and emailed me from there have been full of shit. And I don't know why I keep paying that site sometimes when I never get anything from it anyway. What gives?

 

They've gotten to the point where you can't even put your pricing info on there, they just erase it to where it sounds ridiculous. "My rate is hung top ladies man. ladies only." I got so angry the other day with them contouring my wording into something that didn't make sense that I was about to request a refund. Luckily I was able to re-write it on my own without them editing it...but how unprofessional is that? You can't even sell a service, what do they expect you to say?

 

Have any clients had any luck hiring from there?

On CNN just yesterday, 2.6.11, a segment of a special show regarding slave trafficking of young girls had at its end a commentary regarding http://www.backpage.com. I went to the page to see what was there and was definitely not impressed and as a client will NOT use this source.

I would never use that site. It was created as a "mini-craigslist" but that was already when CL was bad enough... Backpage is not reliable for clients and/or escorts... That's just my opinion... never advertised there but would never do that...

I've hired twice from backpage. The first guy was a "masseur" and wanted more money to take his underwear off - extra money to.... too much ala carte for my tastes! The second guy I met this past weekend - great guy - he's looking for a few regulars. I had a great time and he has the thickest cock I've ever seen in my life. I plan to see him on a regular basis. So I guess it's hit or miss on that website.

I don't rely on backpage.com for many clients, I use it because it's really inexpensive. For what I pay for it, it's definitely worth it. The few clients I have gotten from there have been really nice and very pleasant to be with. In fact, I just got a repeat client from there last night. He lives in another state and is a pretty well-known married sports celebrity.

About six months, I read about a couple of vice stings that went down in two large Texas cities that resulted in many arrests of female escorts advertising on Backpage and Craigslist...and their "johns." I'm very leery of hiring guys who advertise only on Backpage.

backpage and craiglist are Notorious for arrests. Normally female cops will pose as escorts to bust those who hire. Or male cops will pose as clients to bust female escorts. or 3rd

male cops will pose as clients and bust male providers offering escorting or massage.. i personally have never heard of a male cop posing as a male escort. they normally pose as the client

Well, although stings was the last thing on my mind...I pulled my ad anyway because if I had 1 more person call me saying, "whats your rate, I just wrote down your number only and am not near the computer." and then hangup on me upon receiving my rate, that I was going to have a nuclear meltdown wherever I was...most likely a store full of people. Being that all my other advertisements have been on par, instead I wrote to backpage:

 

Subject: Your site is a disgrace to the escorting industry

 

 

To Backpage management or staff,

 

I would like to let you know today that your site is a complete waste of my time and hard earned dollars. Your site cares nothing about the customer, and for you guys to monopolize our advertisements in attempt to cover your behinds leave me in utter contempt of what you guys are 'selling'. Look around, there are NUMEROUS amounts of other escort sites that allow us to freely post as long as we are not saying verbatim 'sex for money'. Yet, you people feel the need to not allow us to post hourly rates or minutes when it comes to massage. You edit every piece of our copy to where it doesn't make any sense. What the hell kind of website are you running?

 

In addition, your site garnishes little to no clients. And I bet its because your website does nothing to attract real ones. I have a very simple solution to this part of the problem. When your phone rings if it comes up as a private number don't answer the phone.

I use to have a voice mail message that said Hi you have reached joseph I'm either with a client or stepped away at the moment. please leave your name, number and brief message and i'll return your call asp. all blocked or private calls will go to voice mail... they hear that they will call back with their number un blocked or they will move on.

Carl Ferrer was taken into custody in Houston after arriving on a flight from Amsterdam, according to a statement from Texas Atty. Gen. Ken Paxton, whose office joined in the criminal inquiry.

 

The two men who founded the Dallas company in 2004 and remain its owners, Michael Lacey and James Larkin, were charged along with Ferrer in a criminal complaint filed Sept. 26 in Sacramento County Superior Court. All three are accused of conspiracy to commit pimping, a felony.

Well...there ya go. However, I will say since writing this in 2011, I did end up meeting lots of guys from there once in gained popularity circa later on in 2011-2014. One is still a regular. It kind of went thru a period where it was kinda seedy and unknown, but when Craigslist got shut down in August 2010...overtime more and more people found their way to Bsckpage. However, in the last year or so...especially this year, backpage hasn't been a good place to advertise and especially since credit card companies stopped allowing to place ads..that's pretty much when it started going downhill.

 

I don't understand how craigslist owner was able to avoid it but the backpage owner gets busted. Unless he was doing something directly related to the charges.

 

All in all, its not good and it's a shame that it happened.

Lets be clear, this post is from 5 yeas ago. Don't be a dummy.

 

That said, backpage did work with standout marketing and professional demeanor. I mean hell, there were more clients coming in from there at one point than men4rent and rentmen and Ada m. So I'm not at all offended or embarrassed about advertising there.

 

However, I haven't advertised there in several months now. Though I was actually reconsidering. However with the latest news I'd be apprehensive.
