My niece posted this on her Facebook page. I'm still closeted to my family-- although it's probably pretty much an open secret at this point. I'd like to think it might be a message to me that she knows about me and is fine with me being gay- but I don't think it is. On the other hand if I haven't influenced her feelings and she chose to put it up because she feels it's the right thing to do, well I am very proud of her. And it gives me hope about the younger generations out there.

I have never told my family but they just know. A co-worker who has just started to work with me the other asked me " I know that you are not interested in football but do you ever go to Superball parties?" Great..

Since Zach was sired by an anonymous donor, there is an off chance he IS my son. I am glad my 5 minutes with a Colt magazine could have result in such a fine individual. It makes me want to grab a Colt and try again.

That is one exceptionally impressive young man. Gay, straight or bi, any parent would be proud of that young man. The tyranny of the majority cannot be used to supress the rights of the minority. That is one of the tenets of our constitutional protections. What these bigots who oppose same sex marriage, support DADT and other dehumanizing stances don't understand is that their rights could be next. How about if the majority of people say blondes can't drive because they have too many "blond moments" and pose a risk to the rest of us. Or they can't marry because it would dilute the gene pool?. Obese people shouldn't marry because they may be more likely to have obese kids which will raise our health costs. Hey majority rules, right? Wrong.

 

Thank you Zach. You have a bright future. I hope I'm around in a few decades to support the Zach Wahls for Governor race.
