What replaced craigslist?

As many of you know, I travel to many continents for extended periods of time so I miss a lot of news. I am asking you about this because I have been unable to find the information elsewhere. It has probably been discussed to death, so I apologize if I am dragging this site down with an unnecessary question. Craigslist gave into much pressure to discontinue its erotic advertisements. There used to be pages and pages of ads in all major cities for this category. So, here is my question: Where did the people go? Is there some other venue being used? Thanks for your help!

Look at backpage.com, not nearly as popular as craigslist, but not bad in some cities.

From my perspective craigslist has not been replaced by one entity, but rather many local, national and international web sites. In the US there is Backpage in several cities, I have noticed some of the local craigslist guys going to men4rent, rentmen, etc. In many cities outside of the US there are sections in the newspapers for adult services still, as well as local rags with "escort" sections. In light of what has happened with craigslist, I am happy to see that things were fractured into many pieces...now there is not just one big guy to go after, the local sheriffs and attorney generals will have to pursue many small sites if they want to go after everyone . The downside to this is that the consumer will have to visit more places to find their "services"...welcome to 2011!!

In many countries, it's still CraigsList. You just have to scan Men Seeking Men and Casual Encounters and you'll find plenty of guys looking for "support" or something similar.

 

When I advertise, I say "Look after me and I'll look after you". Be creative and you'll soon get the responses you seek.

It is still craigslist- look in therapeutic services category. Since I am a therapist I can advertise there and I find many escort clients there who used to hire me from erotic (adult ) services
