Deej -- while I can certainly understand your point of view about dropping the effort, and I am more than a little appreciative of the effort Daddy puts into this monumental task, it is also fun, and informative in that it does bring names to the forefront that otherwise might have passed by unnoticed at times. One interesting thing I find in the top 4 winners is geographic location. While AJ is certainly from a large megalopolis (I certainly county Orange County as LA), the others are more off the beaten path: Tyger in Portland, Sean in Cincinnati and Brandon in Phoenix. I don't think I would really call any of those three locations gay "meccas" as it were so for these gentleman to have risen as they have is, to me, an even more impressive feat. As far as ballot stuffing in the thread, I can at least confirm there was no such effort for Tyger and Sean because I believe I know personally each gentleman who voted for them (with maybe 1 or 2 exceptions).

I do need to clarify this statement as it has been called to my attention that it has been misinterpreted from what I meant. All I was saying is that I personally know the people who voted for Sean and Tyger. I have no reason to believe myself that anyone stuffed the ballot box for any other escort. I can't imagine that any one would as it is not in my nature to even contemplate doing so. I would think this may be even truer for previous escort of the year winners such as Romann and David-sf. Their place as among escorts is secure. The thought that anyone would need to stuff the ballot box for these acknowledged superstars is laughable. Their fans and admirers are so far and so wide that stuffing the ballot box would be completely and totally unnecessary in addition to stupid. So please, if you have read my miserably worded prior statements as casting aspersions on ANY escort of orchestrating such an effort, please accept my humblest and deepest apologies, for that was certainly not my intention in any way, shape or form. I have been wounded by the hurt that I have caused a friend which was completely and totally unintentional. I do my best not to screw up but when I do, I try to admit it. I FUCKED UP HERE BADLY. I realize now I deserve the brickbats which have been thrown at me by my friends for this horribly worded post. I hope that they can accept this public apology and forgive a stupid, stupid error.

Two misinterpretations, two clarifications, two apologies and a time-out all within a 24 hour period in the same thread. Things are certainly looking up for 2011!

Its interesting how a thread that was meant to be a Congrats to the winner and runners up and honorable mentions has turned to a discussion about voting. It is interesting to see the path that some directions that threads take...

It's an annual tradition.

People work their hardest to pollute the voting while it's going on and then carp and whine about it after it's over.

Deej...

I, for one, appresiate all the hard work put in my you and Daddy and the others I can't name to put together this award. And that isnt just because I am biased towards the winner.

But I do agree my count.... Even weighted by ranking.... does have david and romann in the same numbers or even higher.

Yeah, it looks that way until you discard the votes from ballot box stuffers using multiple identities (which Daddy said up front he would do).

Ouch! That hurt ;) ... Whatever the explanation would be and whoever the perpetrator(s) is(are),

as long as Daddy allows multiple identity posting on his MB there always be abuse of similar type.

Okay... this is where I step in. One word for you Mr. SD... Icefirewizard. I think that's a perfect example of a user (you) who was in fact using multiple accounts. Sorry but I had to point that out since you attempted to go after others who have multiple user accounts.

Sour grapes indeed. Would you like some wine with the crow you're now eating? ;)

Oh gentlemen, I'm amused ... you're so much FUN !

Is that the smell of sour grapes I smell?

Not at all. Quite the opposite.

I've met and worked with the current winner AJ Irons and frankly think that he deserves all the votes and accolades. He's a rare commodity out there.

I smell the sour grapes are in Chicago ... ;)

Have a nice day :)

I couldn't agree more... AJ Irons is very much a rare commodity and more... Not that I am biased :o

This is starting to smell like another Message Forum "shutdown"...

Not even close. Although we may end up with a few players in the penalty box.

Now I like the sound of that - a penalty box! Sounds hot! May I nominate myself for this? (being sarcastic of course)!

I like the sound as well!!!

Yeah! Sounds really HOT! What can I do to get penalized and then put in the same box with Romann??!!!

Ya ALL know after all these years JT NEVER has missed a conversation about "The Humble Belgian"... who usually WAFFLES right after making some statement with his usual Dramatic remarks!

Nice to see 2011 will definitely have some more "Faux Paus" from the "Euro Working Guy"....Sadly alot of his Fans have departed Daddys so this will be a much shorter thread as in past years! LOL

Just a few thoughts... most humbly...

It seems obvious to me that no one has an issue with this year's winner. It's the process that is being questioned.

Even in past years, the selection has seemed rather arbitrary. Is it based on how many reviews? Is it based on a client initiated thread? Or both? Is it based on information that only Daddy and the Moderators (great name for a boy band, by the way) are privy to?... I've never been quite clear on that and I have been around these parts for way too long. But no matter. Whatever goes on in the selection process, they usually get #1 right.....in recent memory, David, then Romann, and now, AJ Irons.

However, this year the post was started by Daddy and I thought the criteria was clearly outlined. Rank your choices 1 through 3 and that order mattered.... ie... a number 1 vote counts more than a number 3 vote. Simple, right? And that if all you Sybils out there tried to vote multiple times, he would catch you and throw your other votes out.

Since I am a numbers guy, I went through the thread and tallied it all up. Every 1 vote got 3 pts, every 2 vote got 2 pts and every 3 vote got 1 point... AJ Irons won, no doubt. But after that, well...

So, today after reading deej's comments about the vote only appearing close because of the number of posters that voted using different names, I tallied the list up again... but this time, by poster name... you decide.

AJ Irons still won. Hands down. Ass up. Dick Hard.... even after, ass up... a lot.... with 19.... by sf.westcoaster, Jawjateck, Epigonous, Indymedic, JaymanLB, Okie, JackTwist...

Here's an issue....

Sean Knight was voted for by Leigh (2pts), gp0560 (3pts), whip (1pt) = 6

Ty was voted for by bart (2pts), doit (1 pt), jeepman (2pts), Tomcat (1pt), Leigh (3pts) = 9

And Ty was third... ?

And a few others.....

Raul had 11 votes... by Tomcat, doit, uwsman2, businessguy and whip. Where's the multiple?

Andrew D had 11 votes ... by Racketjock, Diverdan, mineallmine, businessguy. Any multiples here?

Shaun Ross had 14 votes.... by Expat (who voted him 1,2,3..), Mike4393, bbrown, Magnus. Is there a multiple?

Kesslar had 9 votes... by Epigonous, Traveller North, Oliver. No multiple there.

Dane Scott had 8 votes.... by sf.westcoaster, Epigonous, gp0560, jeepman. Multiples, anyone?

Now, to the question of David and Romann... hmmm...

Romann had 15.... by Tomcat, Cowboyup, doit, jeepman, philmusic, whip, hotmale, trooperbill.. Who's the multiple?

David had 14.... by sf.westcoaster, Lankypeters, best hotel, damascene, Diverdan, Bob.. Same question as above)....

This all being said...... we all seem to like the idea of anointing a queen, if you will... but maybe, it shouldn't be called Escort of the Year... maybe, it should be something like Breakout Escort of the Year... (sounds a little like prison... and I like it.)... but that's really all it is, you know. Was AJ Irons a better escort this year than any of the past years winners? Better than David? Better than Romann? Better than Ty? Better than Andrew D?... No, not better, but just as good, just as hot. The kid can hold his own, for sure.

He has raised his game, committed to it and has gotten noticed by a lot of us. He has broken into the big leagues this past year. And now deserves to be mentioned in the company of all the really great ones. See above.

Good for him and good for us.

This is Daddy's sandbox and I have most definitely enjoyed my time at the playground. The slides, the swings, the rim chair.... and if I get put in time out for this.... sorry.

Getting spanked could work, too? Right? No worries... Marco will be here this weekend.

INDY, you are absolutely astute in your keen observation! I firmly concur! Isn't this amazing? It happened in 2010; now it is recurring! SAD! SAD! SAD!

I have enjoyed reading all of these posts about the voting, the selections, etc. I have not had the pleasure of yet meeting the EOY, but hope to in 2011. However, I do appreciate all of the hard work that Daddy and the moderators put into this selection, and we all had a chance to vote, although I have to say, I am distressed that some folks voted several times under various names. I appreciate Daddy's diligence in weeding out those "stuffed" ballots. Maybe we can all devote our "stuffing" to some other more fun endeavor. To me, once you have been EOY, that is enough. Maybe there can be another category for "consistent outstanding service" or some other such category, but for some of the very best guys, they really don't need any more alocades! Their continued success, great reviews, steady work in their chosen profession, etc. makes any award really unnecessary. So, here's my toast to Daddy and all the other moderators who have made this forum possible, and stimulated a lot of mostly healthy conversations throughout the year. And, again my congratulations to the EOY, the runners up, the honorable mentions, etc.

Let's hope we all have a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year!

It's difficult to complain about a public voting process where everyone and his brother can not only see but also count all the votes, but some escorts do. One of them got a timeout over it last year. Similar tolerance levels are in play this year.

Actually it's quite easy. Where the fuck am I?! :-)

Rick Munroe? - Just for being a hopeless do gooder?

LOL!! I need to start reading these lengthy threads. I almost missed this. :) (p.s. I like to think of myself as hopeful, not hopeless :p )
