I'm highly suspicious, put it that way.

Cuananan was, to put it simply, just a nutcase. To think he would be hired by the Calabrian mafia to kill someone like Versace is, to put it bluntly, laughable at best.

Good morning, Jack.... I hate to disagree with my great friend Lee, and hope he is right, but I have had too many experiences in my life to automatically rule something like this out of the realm of possibility. I am one to believe that almost anything is possible in this day and age, and the more wealthy, famous and politically connected one becomes, the more difficult it is to be totally ethical and above board, IMHO.

DD -- I'm not saying that it is not possible that Versace was tied to the mob. In fact, I'd almost be surprised if he wasn't. The mob may have even wanted him dead at the same time, although I am a huge disbeliever in serendipity. What would surprise me is if the mob would hire this positive nut case Andrew Cunanan to do the hit. I would think the guys in the mob would have a little more brains in their head than to employ a loose cannon like that. You would think they would have better resources that a postive whack job. That's all I'm saying.

The theory wouldn't explain why Cunanan murdered several other people, none of them connected to Versace or the Mafia, in the weeks before killing Versace. Would the Mafia use such a loose cannon for a professional hit?

Cunanan did it--acted alone. He was not capable of carrying out anything more complex than looking good at a party (arm candy) and sex (and not overly great in that department). He was just one more in a long line of hustlers looking for nothing more than a Sugar Daddy and didn't have the brains, guts, or ability to get a real job. Truly, a nut case in every sense of the word.....

Yes. His name was Lee Harvey Oswald. But that's another conspiracy theory. ;)

Oh please don't go down that rabbit hole, Alice. :)

I'm begging you!.

And besides, Oswald was the model of stability compared to this Claxton (the ultimate fruitcake).

The debt might not be money. It could be favors, promises, etc. The mafia in Italy is prevelant. Who's to say that it wasn't the mafia who gave Versace the boost to his career that made him who he was. Maybe the deal was that in exchange they were allowed to launder money through his business. Maybe after awhile he refused and wanted to go back on the original agreement so they decided to take action. Andrew Cunanan was running, desperate for money or salvation. Maybe they made him a deal to do their dirty work.

Do I believe any of this? Not really, but stranger things have happened.

LOL. Would not dream of going there.

Like I said, that's for another conspiracy theory discussion. ;)

Exactly! He was just another Wacked Out Wannabe!

might not be ... could be ... Who's to say... Maybe ... Maybe ... Maybe ...

Sounds like one of those cable channel shows about how aliens built the pyramids.

Do I believe any of this? Not really...

Good! Now that we have that settled, let's discuss something sensible like Wikileaks being a CIA false flag operation aimed at Clinton's State Department.

Sounds plausible....let me get my aluminum foil hat and we can chat. :)

I have no problem at all imagining Versace as a N'Drogheta agent. Practically everything south of Rome in peninsular Italy is controlled by them. So perhaps he wanted out. The problem with Versace was getting close enough to do the job and do it without leading the trail back to them. Cunanan was in fact perfect for them. And then he died. How convenient.

Versace sexually assaulted Hercules:

(or maybe just came on to)

Kevin Sorbo has come forward with sexual assault allegations against the late Gianni Versace.

During an appearance on Adam Carolla's podcast on Tuesday, the "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys" star claimed the fashion icon made inappropriate advances toward him during a dinner party.

Sorbo alleged that while modeling in Italy in 1984, he was approached by Versace to discuss runway opportunities.

"He wanted to meet me because of my height. At 6-foot, 3-inches, he wanted me to do fashion shows with these 6-foot tall women," Sorbo recalled

Versace then invited him to a dinner party to meet Sophia Loren and other stars, at which time their business relationship took a turn.

"All of a sudden, his hand goes up my leg," Sorbo said. "Dude, you know I'm straight?" he allegedly asked Versace.

"This is why I like you. You're not a girl man. You are a man's man," Versace reportedly replied. "In life, you must f--k everything. You must do the dog, and the cat, and the boy, and the girl."

Sorbo remembered attempting to skirt Versace's advances, telling him they were living two very different lifestyles and needed to "build a bridge" between them.

"The bridge was never built, and I never got the campaign," Sorbo told Carolla. "I got four free dinners."

The pair remained friends, however, Sorbo said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter after his podcast confession.

He claimed he appeared in a number of Versace shows, but never booked a major campaign — a fact he attributes to his rejection of Versace's sexual advances.

Sorbo told the publication this is not uncommon in Hollywood, nor is the type of predatory behavior he experienced.

"He booked me for his fashion shows but I never got his campaign, but I knew the game, just like I know the game of Hollywood," he said following the interview.

"Casting couches have always been around. I don't play that game, nor do I care to."

Versace was shot dead outside his Miami Beach mansion in 1997.
