I Sense That The Forum Is Changing

In the seven years (give or take) that I have been aware of this place, there have been many posters who are no longer here. Some folks have thankfully disappeared, others have sadly moved on. There can be many reasons for this...they have been booted, lost interest, had life changes, illness (my case). death, alienated by other posters and sometimes a difference of opinion with the owner. All add up to attrition.

 

There is no doubt that new interest is important to any message center to replace those who have left for the above mentioned reasons. New posters can bring new points of view, or new ways of seeing things. One thing we have in common is an interest in men. This site offers a variety of forums to in which to participate and a variety of men to talk with and listen to (or ignore as in my posts). [/color][/size][/font]

I too was a bit disappointed, while I love dogs and cats, and love what are the top things I'm happy for, or my wish list, etc when I started with this venue there was discussion on escorts, cities, very careful responses to members about what to do who to see and not to see, places to go, etc. No it isn't the same and I'm not meaning to trash anyone nor this forum. It's us that need to change it. Well Rocky, I'm one of the newbies. And probably one of the worst offenders of being nice. That's just the way I was raised -- by southern ladies.

 

That has no bearing on wht you are talking about. There is nothing more than I would love to see would be discussions like you mentioned: Maybe a discussion of gay resorts and B&Bs in various locales, updates on gay pride activites. I would love to see more of the escorts involved. I have spoken to several recently who have pulled back and it saddens me. Maybe some sort of expansion into more of "gay experience" for general discussion. You see, many of us come here are struggling with what we want in life -- gay, married, bi, whatever. We know of people who are married and are now out. We know of people who are out are now married. And virtually every permutation in between.

 

It doesn't have to be bitter, nasty or personal to be a great and useful place for those of us that share this common bond, this common interest. I have said since my first day here that my main purpose in being here is to learn -- mainly about me. And there is no better way than through the experiences and wisdom of others. And having a place I could visit to draw on that wisdom and experience would enrich me in ways I can't even begin to fathom. So I'm in with you Rocky.

Im with you and I think the reality is we have somewhat gotten lazy and a little off topic. Time to stop looking at the pictures all the time (though still fun) and start some real... sometimes deep... usually dirty... and often contraversial discussions. Well the forum has changed by design of the moderators. They have made it clear there will be no discussion of escorts beyond a couple of words in the forum.

 

They have made it clear that posters can not be emotional in their disagreements with other posters. We are all to have our smily faces on and be cheerful.

One of my favorite approaches was back stabbing, great for popcorn eating and better than most anything on TV. But alas we quickly send out the sanitizer crew.

Nothing better than seeing two working guys going at it. Those were the days, we would never see that again.

 

The only time I get the reason to put things under lock and key is whenever the subject of the gentleman who is home based in San Antonio comes up and things get ridiculous quickly.

 

So instead we get the drivel which currently runs rampant through the threads. Which belongs more in some gay chat line. Again I came here originally for the discussion about escorts, not to meet friends or build a facebook file. That is what has changed. I dont think I have seen anyone's life ruined or busness halted because of a thread in the forum. I mean if that were the case the man in San Antonio would be in a homeless shelter. What I have seen is guys brought on the carpet for being dishonest in some fashion.

 

Who knows maybe someday we will get back to the discussion about escorts rather than what's newest play on Broadway or learning how to meet friends in three easy steps.

I have been around since the Hooboy days. I travel a lot and whenever I get home and take a day off, I make a pot of coffee and read - sometimes I devote over an hour to seeing what is up. Of course the board changes, so do we. But I am so busy travelling literally around the world - in a world where there is no sex or sexuality - just business.
