Ok, probably blog material...but heck. Im spending my last day in Dallas tomorrow before Im off to the next state for GOOD and Im just surprised how down this area seems to have gotten. Its seems the only hope I have for this place is from the regulars I've met during my time here.

I started off here 2 summers ago, right around this time...and I dont recall it being like this. I did notice a drop off from what I was used to in South Florida, but I dont think it was this sluggish. And with 2 other cities nearby, its shameful to say the least...but, predictable. Looks can be decieving. I know I have decided that this whole state isn't the place for me, but damn...way to prove my point! Contrast that to the other places I've frequented, Dallas has officially dropped from my places to ever visit again! Of course, everyone's results may vary. But Im just speaking from me. There are much better cities than this.

Im happy with what I've made it so far...but Im disappointed that it isn't better. Oh well, no need of trying to get blood from a stone. Thats why there are 49 other states :p

Have you considered that the bad economy probably has a lot to do with the slow business?

Dear Joey:

This forum has many uses. I do actually get a great deal of useful information, it used to be a bit more entertaining but that is in the past. I have seen your posts for the past year and 1/2 or so. From your posts I know you dont really care about most of our opinions but really you do come off as a rather negative person. You rarely post anything positive about anyone or anything. The forum certainly can be a place to bitch about life openly but for gentlemen who work in the industry and who do post here I do read their posts to get a feel who they are and over time it does give an image of who they might be in person and would I be interested in hiring them. The image you have presented to us is one who is very negative, tends to complain and usually like to push the problems in life on to others.

The question I would have is what do you have to offer to the community and is there anything in life you do like or enjoy because I really can not recall a post that you have. No place in America is perfect. I think you need to review your approach and business plan and maybe this life is not what you are cut out for. It is not an easy game and requires a great deal of mental toughness. I am sure you will think I am someone who never hires but I can assure I hire regularly and a very wide variety of gentlemen and I just dont think the image you present is very attractive.

Good luck on the move, but look internally first before lashing out.

I use to travel regularly to Dallas on business but that has come to a halt. I always hired when I was there. Over the years I had some great escorts like Travis Wade and more recently Romann and Ethan West (now in San Diego).

The whole Market Center area shows the signs of the slow down with most of the buildings full of closed showrooms; the World Trade Center building has whole empty floors and the Apparel Mart is a ghost town. My last trade show there was a fraction of its former self with fewer exhibits and attendees. Depending on how much of your business was local or travelers, the traveler part should reflect the economy.

I often find Joey's posts thought provoking and refreshing, even if I don't necessarily agree with some of the things he says or how he says it. He is being genuine to who he is. Yes that may hurt his business to some degree but then again how big of an influences does this board have on any specific escorts business. I actually would enjoy hiring him and having a conversation with him before what I believe would be some great playtime. Regardless of how he approaches the board, he is one of a relatively small number of escorts who actively and regularly participate here and that is something that adds to the vitality of the site. Perhaps he is not one of the chosen "favorites" here but that is because he speaks his mind, even if perceived as negatively, and that makes things interesting. So he offers a lot, IMHO, to this community.

The issue he raises may be not limited to just Dallas but clearly other posters have echoed what Joey has stated about Dallas.

Thrive on Controversy? Nope just plain "needs attention"!

Glass 1/2 FULL! That ain't gonna happen.. As far as the other 49 States I have a pretty good idea what this "Working Guy" would have to say about them..

Unless of course his BIZ Picked Up "drastically" which at this rate ain't ever gonna happen from this PLACE, which I'm sure he has realized..so he'll say anything for the needed Attention!

Every place that Joey talks about not liking or business being slow in, I seem to do well in consistently (including my home of Dallas, TX).

Not trying to be catty in the least...but maybe its him and not the city?

I agree Joey. The past few times I have been to Dallas ( as well as Houston) It seems totally different than it ise to be. Maybe we should just go on tour together...;)

Thanks, I know you're from Florida and tour about, so you know the difference.

Everone has their different opinions on busy, Jason. As you can see, someone above just mentioned the same thing. In addition, you and I are totally different and what place works for you is unfair to even compare.

Im not trying to be negative or bring attention...actually, yes I am bringing attention, to the fact that obviously the place has changed. Even craigslist was great for massage work, and now...even that seems down. Yet I can go to little old Amarillo, texas or San Antonio...put the same ad up, same wording and photo, and do better.

I conclude that the Dallas market has become too saturated. Everyone is coming here from Florida and California....Which is why I've already set my sights elsewhere. Most importantly, I'm tired of these Blue Laws and 65/70 speed limits and emissions inspections (which Florida did away with in the 90s). In Colorado its 75 mph, liquor at Target and no inspections! If you can't handle having a professional business discussion about a particular market without pointing fingers...That obviously shows your level of maturity.

Like I said, this is probably blog material...more of a statement than asking why (I've figured it out already, which is why I relocated 8 months ago)...but its good to see other people's input from here.

Most of the time in life, you get what you give. You come across as a highly negative person, both here and when emailing privately, which leads me to believe that your attitude is the likely culprit. You have a 'star attitude' without the reviews or lip service.

You've hit the proverbial nail on the head. I'm glad to hear you've enjoy doing business with Joey. Me? I ain't coming close to him because he doesn't sound like he would be any fun. Then even if he was fun, I still might hear negative reflections from him.

Some people say the glass is half full,

Some people say the glass is half empty,

Some people say the glass is half empty and it's dirty, too! DAMN IT!

I try to limit myself to those who find 1/2 a glass satisfying.

I done left San Antonio and you still hating...What do you know about my emails? I've only exchanged private emails with 3 guys from this state. Unless your name is Ben Nichols, then yes. Only because you came at me wrong from the get go. Reveal yourself and stop talking shit behind a facade....

Again, this thread is not to be argued over and its childish to bring in reviews and other things not pertaining to this. Hell, I have to get ready for a party....I'm sorry you have hangups about my not liking someplace thats the only thing you know, wishing you could go other places but can only imagine and 'fish' around in.

Well, to each is own. Again, completely different people you're referring to. I know people in London and Ireland who wouldn't step foot in the states simply because they find it so much better where they are.

I can deal with the 'ganging' up thats going on here, because I can deflect it in every way possible. But, just to make some happy...yes, I do well in Dallas too. But, not as well as some other places I've been. I also have guys here who read my blog and some great regulars. Me not liking Dallas is not a statement about a particular person. I have met some very nice clients here when I 1st moved here, and even when I leave I'll stil have regs.

Working guys can come to Dallas all they want....Im not stopping them. Im not jealous either. What works for me may not work for them and vice versa. I prefer going to cities that aren't as often talked about and have a new guy popping up every 30 seconds. It works for me. Dont hate me cause Im smart....

Me? I ain't coming close to him because he doesn't sound like he would be any fun. Then even if he was fun, I still might hear negative reflections from him

Well, thats too bad. I'm sorry for your loss. Next?

Why limit yourself. Embrace those that are enduring pessimists along with those that are the eternal optimist to be able to consider alternative ways of looking at things. Either extreme, if that is all that we hear from, can get quite myopic and boring.

Not BN, but a great admirer of his and one of his long time clients. I have emailed you before and you showed a great deal of attitude in our back and forth. I lost interest.

I'd be mighty careful as to how you talk about other escorts considering your very public track record. You might not like BN for whatever reason, but there's no doubt that he's one of the most successful escorts out there. Can't argue that. Perhaps it's time for you to stop resisting change and start working on who you are. Might help in attracting new clients. Your negativity is getting the best of you.

Wow, for a moment, I had the impression you might be suggesting that I'm not open-minded. But, maybe you missed the context of my statement. I am speaking only about a client/escort relationship.

I experience the gamut of optimists and pessimists in my daily life. I'm in sales so I experience the full range of emotions, attitudes, and personalities. But, when comes to dropping trou and exposing my intimate self to another man, it ain't going to be with someone who has a low opinion of me or himself.

At $5/minute, I'm going to have fun with a positive personality, a hot body and a sensuous partner practiced in the art of physical stimulation and release.

With Mr. Bryant, my impression is any response from him is equivalent to sticking your hand in a meat grinder - you know it's is going to get ground up, but will it be recognizable as it comes out the other end? I'm not sticking my favorite appendage in his meat grinder! Nor am I going to expose my SELF to his trash-talking negativity.

Reading this thread, Mr. Bryant reduces himself to trash talking (and profanely) anytime someone gets too close to a truth he doesn't want to hear.

Initially, I wasn't planning to post in this thread. However, I'm surprised of the animosity that certain posters have towards the OP.

Years ago, HooBoy used to say so eloquently: "ATTACK THE ISSUE, NOT THE POSTER" !

Steven,

No one out here, to my recollection, ever attacked you at least as far as this board is concerned. This is because you are friendly and bright and do not repeatedly blame others for things that happen in life.

The individuals who responded to Joey's recent post had no choice but to attack the poster rather than attack the issue (as you so eloquently quoted from Hooboy).

If you go back over Joey's posts, most of them show hostility, anger and negativity. Rarely, if ever, does he post something upbeat or positive.

Under those circumstances, why would a client who reads the bulk of Joey's posts want to make a date with him?

Negativity is like pain, it is not pleasant and no one wants it.

I feel bad for Joey because he does not realize that he is his worst enemy.
