Mark with all due respects. I suggest you look before you leap. I have know Vegas Boy Dave for well over a year and have looked at his site almost daily. I am not sure where you are coming from on his pay site. He does not have a members join section as you claim Stef and Adam do and I know Stef did but not sure about Adam. He does have a free Avs for his Nude pics but that is not the same so be carefull what you say about others cause some don't look or check. Chuck

Just curious - I checked out the web site of one of the escorts that posted to Escort Travels - at least I think that's where I found it.

There were two or three pics of him wearing jeans. They dodn't reveal very much about him - certainly not enough to charge me up to hire him.

However - for a "start up" fee of $20.95 and a "continuing monthly fee of $15.95, you could view his "more revealing" pictures. And if he keeps changing the pics monthly he might be able to retain a subscriber indefinately.

Now lets just assume he gets you for 1 year (12 x 15.95 + 20.95) - he would rake in from just one customer, $212.35. Do the math - if he could get 1000 customers - and that's not an impossibility considering the web allows him to market himself to the whole world - he could end up with over 200 grand - not too shabby!

So my question is this. How much do you think an escort could realisticly make per year via this method? And I don't mean to include the actual escorting fees from one on one appointments.

i have a friend who does photo and video work for female strippers (and a few males). the female strippers do this alot. as they go from club to club and city to city and perform in the clubs, they get guys to sign up after getting excited at their live performances. also, some of them are good saleswomen in getting the guys to sign up. it is often hard for the men to turn the girls down when the girls are standing there almost naked.

however, the retention rate is not high and the guys drop off fairly fast. it is expensive and time consuming to keep enough pictures posted to keep the guys interested. alot of the girls just do not do enough quality pictures to keep the site fresh. and if they miss posting new pictures a month or two, the guys are gone.

it really takes a site posting multiple stripper/escort pictures on a daily basis to keep people coming back. think of a site like badpuppy. it's really more work and harder than the math sounds.

where some of the escorts do make money is having an xrated part of their site with a strange adult verification service sign-up. they get a percentage of the people signing up. while many people have mancheck or adultcheck, there are some strange ones that are not too well known and it is possible to get guys to sign up for the one time fee or annual fee. this way the escort does not have the problems of keeping the site updated. as we all know, escorts just do not keep updating their photos; there are guys that have been using pictures a decade old.

TB I think it would be very limited. I doubt there is enough interest to sustain the type of numbers you calculated. My guess is they earn about 300. - 500. per year. I find it hard to believe that people will sign up just to see their nude pics yet I do know there always will be a few.

There have been several escorts trying this Stef and Adam had a pay for service as does Vegas Dave and Jake in SF.... (Adam's was a little more subtle.) Even escort agencies as Red Dragon and Campus require an AVS to view nude pics of their guys.

If it was a real money maker we would see far more escorts using this method. In most cases it is probably more trouble than their time is worth.

Thunder, I think its a mute issue. For the same amount of money (investment) you can get thousands of pictures of any type guy, including the likes of the one you refer to, at hundreds of other websites. I simply don't see why anybody would spent that kind of money on a single person. Its foolish.

The early adopters made some nice change when it was still a novelty but these days porn on the net is everywhere, and there are many "mega-sites", so the individual sites don't make that much. They might make enough to pay for the bandwidth they use, particularly if they do live shows from their sites, but nobody is getting rich.

The automatic re-billing is insidious, though. I *hate* it! You often can't get it stopped once it has started.

I am inclined to agree with you - I know he'd never get one cent of my money.

But - sometimes we tend to think of the web as a local deal, forgetting that the potential customer base worldwide is in the untold millions. So if the escort has a look that appeals to certain "fans" - who's to say what the potential is.

Guess I will never know but it sure makes me wonder.

Wasn't it Barnum & Bailey who said "There's a sucker born everyday"?

I'd agree with all the posts up to here--porn on the net is everywhere and the mega sites rake in the big bucks. Picking up the crumbs is tons of work and produces very small rewards. The hassle factor is very high too.

Someone reviewed on this site operates a live web cam site. The video sessions are pretty good--this individual is very hot. Guests visit for on-cam, live sessions pretty often. The operator is tied to the site a few hours a day, every day, on an ongoing basis. Plus, because of the streaming video involved, the hosting charges are pretty high. Ran in to the operator at a club a couple weeks ago, and asked how the site was going. The operator is out a small fortune for computers, cameras, etc and is not breaking even in monthly fees over expenses. The person is doing it because they like it and feel some sense of committment to the people who have paid. (laudable)

Without a sizeable marketing budget to drive traffic to your site, doing much of anything on the Internet that isn't wildly unique probably isn't going to make you rich these days. Just to many choices out there.
