Somehow the architecture also suggests France or a French connection (and those were my thoughts even before ArVaGuy identified the horse as being a French breed) ... now perhaps someone can identify that as well.

I also notice that the guys ass certainly could be French. The bosy style of the model is most definitely European, given the lack of bulging muscles and the fact that the front side of the guy is not visible. So very subtle.
