The Wiggins/Tudball sketches always cracked me up. If only I could find the "Mildred Fierce" sketch with Carol Burnett as Mildred and Vicki Lawrence as Vida. Priceless.

Carol Burnett says that during her first costume fitting for "Mrs. Wiggins" the pencil skirt was a little loose in the butt so she suggested taking it in. Bob Mackie, who designed every costume for the show, said "no, stick your butt out" and that's how the Wiggins walk came to be.

 

If you've ever seen young people who never heard of Carol Burnett in tears laughing over YouTube clips you understand how truly timeless the comedy was.

Autobiography...

 

I read her the first volume of her story years ago...and to date it is one of my all time favorites memoirs. Called One More Time...and I cannot recommend it enough. The second volume is out this spring and I haven't read it yet...saving it for summer weekend.
