Both Lookin and I have spent a fortune trying to get our horse ready for today's Derby. It's been a difficult task, but with the help of several male friends we think we are set to win today's Kentucky Derby.

We would like to thank those of you who have sent contributions to the long efforts to train the horse, and, should it win, Lookin will hold a big party at his favorite bar in San Francisco. He's been looking at Lucky for some time now, so the name just jumped to at him when the time came.

I was at said watering hole yesterday afternoon when it was decided that Mint Juleps will be served all day long in honor of the event. Everyone was feeling lucky and it was hard keeping both feet on the ground. I can't count the number of racing fans who glanced my way and said, "Just look at that horse's ass!"

They did not.

 

However, I will testify to the "power" of mint juleps, whether ingested all day long or just one or two. Made on the spot with "fresh" mint leaves they are delicious as well as intoxicating.

 

Nothing like watching the infield whilest waiting upon the "Derby". The horses are interesting also.
