I can assure everyone that the Hooville Weekend is NOT an orgy. It is a gathering of staid gentlemen plus their professional escort dates or significant others, who meet for dinner followed by a cultural entertainment, and a pleasant "pool event" the next day at Oliver's. Some of us jimboy would like to know before we make plans to attend an event! I'm well traveled and well-education and I usually look before I leap. I like to know what type of event I am attending and the people with whom I am spending a weekend. Some people have different expectations and ideas of how an event should happen. My idea of a good time may vary drastically from your idea of a good time. And maybe for some it is an event on the Concorde with friends!

And Jimbo -- it's just a bit of fun jousting among friends. Playful teasing, taunting and as Tomcat said, for those of us who have never been to one, I would have no idea of what to expect. It's called frivolity. And an occasional thread like that, especially if it is about a party, I don't think is all that bad. Is it??

Ok guys. In the way of explanation regarding the Hooville Palm Springs Weekend from one of the original attendees. I have attended all three of the weekends. Each year the event has been bigger and better. Some attendees bring an escort and some come solo. My first year attending I did not bring a guest but the last two years I have.

 

Saturday evening consists of a group dinner at a nice restaurant. Last year’s choice was outstanding as it allowed the group some privacy. This dinner is always great fun at it allows many of us who see each other only once a year to become reacquainted and catch up on what is new in each other’s lives. It is also a great time to meet new attendees. Additionally it provides an opportunity to meet the escort guests who various attendees have invited. After dinner we all attend the performance of a musical present by the Palm Springs Community Theatre. After the show some attendees go out bar hopping and some like myself head back to my hotel for some intimate time with my guest.

 

On Saturday beginning at about noon Oliver opens his home to a pool gathering at his condo. In the past some escorts have chosen to attend this function on their own without being the guest of someone. There is always tons of delicious food and an open bar all compliments of Oliver, Lucky and others who choose to bring additional food and liquid refreshments. Weather permitting some attendees and escorts do enter the pool nude, doing so is completely at the option of each individual. Unfortunately my mirror doesn’t lie to me so I most definitely keep ALL my clothing on. The eye candy is delicious. The weekend ends for many around four in the afternoon; however, some who are spending Sunday evening in town go out to dinner together at some casual restaurant.

Actually, Epigonos, although you have been a fervent contributor to the recent Hooville Weekends, both socially and culinarily (is that a word?), there have been six Palm Springs Hooville Weekends in all, not three. The first was organized by Lucky in 2005, when there were only nine of us for dinner, plus a few more the next day at a party at Lucky's house. Hooboy himself was invited but couldn't come, because he was in Thailand, but we toasted him, hoping to see him the following year, which was never to be. Each year since then it has expanded in size, although only four of the original Hoovilleans have been to every weekend, and only Lucky and jackhammer have taken part in every event of each weekend.
