Berlin sex clubs?

I have stayed at the Grand Hyatt in Berlin on two occasions and found it to be very friendly and accomodating. While not in the middle of the "action" it is at Potsdam place so easy access to everywhere with the subway. I entertained guests on a couple of occasions there and never had any problem with staff or security. While this is not the least expensive place in Berlin, the concierge was extremely helpful in suggesting places I might enjoy. He also managed to get tickets to some sold out events at face value.

Is anyone else heading to Berlin this coming weekend for the 2012 edition of Folsom Europe?

Steven… I certainly wish I could make the trek to Berlin… as the Germans traditionally have been among the best purveyors of S&M… Something tells me that Folsom East in NYC and even some of the after-events would seem to be quite tame in comparison!

 

At any rate, I am glad that you revived this thread as it shows that you indeed have a wild side to you that I had forgotten about… and especially in light of your comments in the recent thread about Steamworks in Chicago where you seemed to nix the place for some “questionable” goings on… Yet you have been to and have touted the infamous Lab.oratory in Berlin where bare backing is as you said, “more the norm rather than the exception in this paradise lust”.

 

Having personally been to neither I can't make a direct comparison between the two venues, but as a person who is obsessed with safety and knowing that you only play safely, you most definitely prove my point from the Steamworks thread that one can visit such seemingly “questionable” places and still act in a responsible fashion. It's all about having the discipline to act sensibly and wisely... and especially when faced with and placed in problematic situations as often occurs in life...

I was in Berlin 10 years ago and visited a few bars that were raunchy to say the least. Much like one would find in Paris or Amsterdamn. I can't recall the names now but there are lots of sources of gay guides to cities such as Berlin to show you where to go.

 

I also recall a gay restaurant that was a lot of fun if you are dining alone. Again can't remember the name but it was in Schoneburg if that helps and there was a huge billboard across the street of two gay cowboys in a Marlborough ad.

 

The thing to do is some research before you go. Hopefully others here will have more specific names to give you.
