wow

dapurplebear~~ Do you sing too? Please sing for us.. I find singers and musicians hot~~ :)

I am a musician - and he DOESN'T - but I bet he may ride it for a while -- the young girl (and in this case older men) may vote for a while --- :-)

this the best thing I have seem/heard him do...

No cheesy clothes

His performance last week was awful and just a terrible song choice. That said unfortunately he did not pick clothing to accent the body. He wore a jacket both nights and even during Hollywood week a simple t-shirt. So no revealing looks which would have been so much better than the singing.

He is another person who does not listen or read what Idol contestants should do when picking a song. Groups like First Republic, The Fray, Cold Play all should be avoided. They can not be sung by stand alone singers unless you change the arrangement significantly. The charm in most of their music is the arrangement not the song.

Last second shot at show and his good looks did get votes but really they could have eliminated at least 8 of the guys and 8 of the girls last week and lets just move to the top 8 starting this week. One of the worst weeks I can ever recall on the show. Talent in the US must be all used up. Even the judges looked board and had to be wondering what the hell they picked.

I wish I sang -- I don't -- I compose and play the piano, conduct.. classical stuff, movies, it is tuneful and people like it --

if anyone wants to hear some -- pvt. message me -- (not soliciting - but if interested...)

:-)

I should send you one of my songs for your opinion

Vote for the Worst...

Tim Urban may make it a few more weeks on Idol, considering his A&F hot body and the fact that the website Votefortheworst.com is encouraging its followers to vote en masse for Tim and female screacher Haeley Vaughn. This website's voting block is credited for keeping Sanjaya Malakar and Megan "Bird Noises" Joy and other lackluster singers on the show long after their 15 minutes of fame should have expired. Here's the website link:

Tim looked very hot tonight and actually sang 100% better and given some of the performances tonight I dont think he is going home.

I think if Lee would lose about 15 lbs he would look very good and he sings great.

However the list is again large for singers tonight who sucked. Lee and Big Mike were the best. I would put Tim 5th tonight.

John Park was boring again.

Lets hope Crystal can make it back for tomorrow, otherwise this has the potential to be one of the worst seasons ever.

And please West coasters give it a rest, how can you read the board and watch show at same time knowing we might be talking about it.

Give it a rest? Well, I agree that one should watch the show before commenting on it, unless it is a generic comment, but sometimes we do take a look at what is being said.

I thought the Asian guy needed a good haircut, and the guy with the neck tattoo, Garcia, should please be voted off pronto.

But I did like the 16 year old, Tim Urban, the guy with the nice croaky voice, and the first black singer. No, I don't pay much attention to the names. Lambert, I remember that one...

Last night I watched "American Idol" for the first time this season and had to force myself to view it for its entire two hours. I liked the first singer and the guy who sang the Marvin Gaye number, Tim, the guy who received all of the raves near the end, and the guy who sang Tina's song.

As some of the singers-- I was confused as to what the judges really want from them. On the one hand they state to be original, and when the guys ventured out to do this-- they were heavily criticized.

More than likely I'll watch the women tonight and probably will not return to viewing this show until it's been nailed down to the top SIX; that is when I take on a favorite and begin voting.

Tim Urban improves in week 2

From Billboard magazine:

Tim Urban: "Come On Get Higher" by Matt Nathanson

I...I...liked this? What? After last week's "Apologize" abomination - thanks for showing that in Tim Urban's intro, mean "AI" editors -- I think he really redeemed himself this week. His voice sounded nice and the timidity that screwed up his performance last week came across as cute nervousness this week. It was all rather sweet. Go underdog Urban! Am I insane? Agreeing with Simon tells me nothing, since I frequently suspect that he gives raves to people he want to see go and pans to people he wants to stay in an attempt to reverse-psychology sway the voters.

I was thinking the same thing last night. The judges keep harping on originality, "make the song your own" blah blah.. Then when the performers do it they get comments like "you went too far" or "why did you mess with this classic song". Sheesh.. what's a singer to do?

The two guys that did their own thing over did it and it was obvious even to a novice like me. When Adam Lambert did it he used existing remakes that were already proven and that is why it worked with him. Plus Adam had an amazing voice which always helps.

Absolutely! Who cares about the voice. He better show that on the show or he's a goner!

Once again, a case of "different strokes for different folks". I like the Asian guy's haircut, and while I didn't enjoy Garcia's song last night, I think he does have one of the better voices in the competition.

Yes, it is perfectly fine to have a different opinion. perhaps we can agree though that since he was told that his performance was boring, an updated look with stylish, gelled hair might make him look more appealing.

As for Garcia, well, you are entitled to your opinion!!:)

Great Exposure

I'm pleased, too, that Texas Hottie Tim Urban improved his vocal performance significantly this week. He probably isn't the "best," however the exposure he's receiving is sure to net him a contract of some type: swimsuit/underwear model, boy-band singer, acting role on "Gossip Girls" or "Glee," etc.
