Diddys kid just turned 16 and normally I wouldn't really care. But the life of luxury really caught my attention- does a 16 y/o really need such a b-day gift?

A better question is does a parent really need to give this kind of gift. He may for a variety of reasons, one of them being he was on a reality TV show at the time. But really, the Jersey Shore kids were there. As a resident of the Jersey Shore, those kids are an abomination.

As a resident of the Jersey Shore, those kids are an abomination.

 

I concur. I grew up on the Jersey Shore and this show is NOT representative at all of the Jersey Shore kids.

Well unfortunately 30 and looking it are still kids to me. I know one of the young ladies on the show, no not the short slutty one, and she is actually a very nice person. How many of us in our 20s placed in a house at the beach with alcohol and sex partners would come off looking good? But the show looks designed, as many of these lets watch 20 somethings in their natural environment shows, to capture the worst kind of behavior and glorify it. Most of the little I have seen, reminds me of capturing monkeys from the wild, placing them in a small zoo cage and editing the film down to fights and feces flinging.

When so many Americans have lost their jobs, homes, retirement funds, etc., this type of lavish and conspicuous consumption is deplorable. Diddy could have sent $360,000 to the Haiti earthquake victims in his son's honor (or even taken his son to Haiti to distribute money and supplies to the victims himself) and it would have been the greatest gift (and lesson) Diddy could ever have given his 16 year-old.
