Isn't a bit in bad taste to email a whole distribution list (with people on it that have never engaged in his services, as well as those who have) to ask for reviews?

---cut and paste email---

Distinguished Gentlemen,

I made it to Cover Boy on the famous American Website Daddy's Reviews for TODAY JAN.14TH 2010.

This website is highly respected in the Escort community and has been around for over 10 years.

In order to reach the American audience I must have current reviews.

You're help by sending a review about me to this site would be greatly appreciated.

Thanking you in advance.

"Faithfully Yours",

Yes - and this is one reason why virtually ALL of my emails with escorts/masseurs are done from a web based email like hotmail or yahoo - vs. my "real" email address I use for family and business.

I agree, JackTwist. He's not my type personally, but even if he were my beau ideal and had ten great reviews, I would never hire him after this breach of discretion. How could you trust him not to do something equally dumb again?

A bit of advice to the email-challenged who want to send out mass mailings. Put your recipients (or even your whole contacts list) in as bcc's and put yourself in as the addressee. That way, nobody who receives the email can see who else you sent it to.

Amen!

Also, if you forward an email to someone, especially an email that's already been forwarded multiple times, delete all the other addresses before you send it. An acquaintance of mine consistently forwards emails to me with dozens of addresses scattered throughout. I rarely send him anything for that reason alone.

With Apple Mail, all you have to do is highlight the juicy bits you want to send before you even hit the "forward" button, and all the other stuff will be stripped out of your message before you hit "send".

I feel obligated to clarify a couple of points:

Phillipe didn't email anyone with addresses visible. I have no way of knowing who he sent the email to. I just receive his emails as he sends them and he seems to send them to a broad audience.

I just thought it was in poor taste to ask for reviews through email in that manner. Certainly, that he included non-clients could also be in poor taste, but I guess I was curious to your thoughts about outright asking for reviews from clients via email. Kinda seems a bit tacky (and desparate).

So I don't think there's been any client information divuldged, or anything like that and I apologize if I wasn't clearer in my original post.

Oh, got it, Joe. Sorry to jump to the conclusion that he breached confidentiality. If he didn't, then I'm not nearly as troubled by the email. Yes, it's a bit tacky to ask for reviews in a mass mailing, but I wouldn't be offended if an escort with whom I had one or more good experiences asked me directly if I would be willing to write a review for him. He did give a legitimate explanation that the reviews would be helpful to break into the U.S. market and, as long as he understood that I would be honest (which is why he should be careful about whom he asks), I don't think the request is unreasonable.
