Thanks for sharing. I recently saw a similar show at a science center of sorts...always appreciate things in perspective.

I sent this link out to my family and friends, as well as the top 13 books of 2009. Everyone liked this link, but the book list was met with replies such as "I've never heard of any of these books!"

Thank you for sharing, Lucky! I'm an avid space guy and have a deep space telescope in my living room which I don't get to use often anymore because of the lightpollution living in downtown Dallas. We truly are only a spec of sand in the great frontier of planets, solar systems and galaxies beyond. If I could have one wish for myself it would be to be one of the lucky and few to view Earth from space - the view would be amazing not to mention humble experience.

I only hope that we're not the only life because it would seem like a waste of space if we were.

Last night I was called out of the house on an emergency. As I was getting in my car, my right leg was in the car and my left leg slipped on the ice. I fell down onto the seat of the car and then out the door and wound up lying on my driveway. As I lay there, I looked up and noticed what a clear and bright sky it was. There was a plane overhead and I wondered could anyone out there have seen this fall and were they laughing their ass off over my mishap. I agree with Romann, that life elsewhere is imperative or else what is the point.

Later in the evening, while getting out of a friend's car, the tie of my jacket got caught in the door and the toggle at the bottom prevented me from pulling it out as my friend drove away. As he drove, the toggle the tie the jacket and ultimately I went with him. I was able to bang on the car before being pulled too far along the icy parking lot, but I once again wound up on the ground, gazing up into that same clear sky. An encore for my friends out in space.

Am a bit sore but I will be fine for those that would feel compelled to ask.

oh my

You fell a lot. Be careful. If you need anything I will get on a plane and be there. :)

Very interesting that PK's accidents happened in light of this thread on the cosmos. Perhaps his cosmic destiny is not so good? There's still time, PK! :)

Believe me anyone who knows me already knows that I am the cosmos' comic victim. I seemed to get smacked with a proverbial custard pie any time the cosmos is feeling a bit blue. I can't complain too much and if I did, what good would it do?

Well PK Im glad your alright after all the mishaps. But maybe its life telling you something. Its time to slow down and stargaze for awhile. If tomorrow stops raining. Take the guys out with a hot toddy and lie on a lounge chair and watch the heavens. Its best when you do it on your own accord.

Not to mention the perspective on our own little lives is always much brighter when considered in the magnitude of the night sky
