It may be my imagination, but it seems to me that the Message Center now has more new posters than at any time I can remember. There was a time when a new poster meant simply that someone had changed his screen name, but now I think we have genuine new interest here, and it is very welcome. Every successful message center needs new blood to keep it alive and thriving.

In my almost ten years here I have seen many interesting people come and go, no pun intended. Some get tired of the place, others lose interest in hiring, some feel unwelcome. I miss many of those who have left. (Yes, you!)

Feeling welcome is a big deal. Who would stay where they didn't feel they were wanted? Not some who like to stir the fires. It takes a thick skin sometimes to suffer the locker room hazing that occasionally, yes, occasionally, takes place when one makes an erroneous judgment. If you say something you can't back up, well, then you usually hear about it.

But it is the new information, the new ideas and points of view that I celebrate here. One fear in welcoming a new member is that the person is really an old member masquerading. So, I am going to go out on a limb and name one new poster whom I like a lot, which is no slight to any one else, and I welcome others naming guys who have impressed them.

One of my favorite new posters is...the Duchess! Here's his/her own identifying information:

Here Here, What a great post Lucky and I second that. I check in many times just to see what the Dutchess has said next. Hail to her royal highness, Long may she reign!

I think one of the main reasons that there are more posters around is that the forum has become a friendlier and more open place. Notwithstanding some bitchiness from and between a few escorts and a couple of people who seem obsessed with two (in)famous escorts, the overall feeling of the place is very much better than it used to be.

I love DuchessIvanaKizznhugg

DuchessIvanaKizznhugg is so nice, friendly and caring. If I ever visit Canada I want to take Her grace out to a nice dinner.

Welcome!

Lucky, I join you in welcoming the new members to Hooville. For those of you who are new here, Lucky coined the term "Hooville" and has brought many members closer together. Each year he and Oliver host a Hooville gathering in Palm Springs. This has become an excellent opportunity for members and escorts to finally meet the faces behind those user names and share some common interests.

I agree that there are some reasons why established members have moved on. One reason I had often heard was the nastiness of some towards others. Well, things here have definitely improved. The number of "alerts" is way down and most can be handled simply by sending the "offender" a polite reminder that we can do without those personal attacks.

Also, with the new members come new discussions and varied opinions. Each "Forum" provides opportunities to discuss areas of interest. Through reading the many post, I find the members here to be most helpful in answering questions or directing new users to past threads which might answer their inquiry.

Welcome again,

Coop

Blush......

Like this noted actress, I don't do accolades well: you're causing me to blush, and red's not a good colour for me--nails, lips, toes, and (occasionally) hair excluded ;)

Thank you Lucky for the kind words. Your assessment is correct....I am a newbie and not a reincaration of a former poster. That you have hung out here for almost 10 years is quite a testament. (To what, I'm not quite sure, but a testament nonetheless!:D) Thanks also NYTomcat, greatness, and justaguy.... Fan club membership is $18.95 and a self-addressed, stamped, return envelope.:p

I enjoy hanging out here with y'all, and am glad I finally took the plunge to post and not just lurk. (I debated with a screen name of LurkerNoMore, but this one's more fun!)

The group as a whole I find has passion for ideas and ideals, a deep knowledge pool, an earnestness to share, compassion, a broad sense of humour, and a penchant for (mostly)good-natured ribbing so that it doesn't get too serious.

You guyz are extremely "plugged in"--I often hear of the happenings of popular culture, across many fronts--waaaay sooner here than I do anywhere else. I like that: it feels like I'm on the edge!

You are computer-savvy, techno-savvy, movie & theatre savvy, politically savvy, ...and all because so many posters have passion and are willing to share.

So thanks for the kind words, and thanks also for the enriching experience.

I look forward to a continuing good time, and to contributing where I can.

Duchess, if I may call you that, you don't know how relieved I am that you are indeed a new poster, and not gizmo428 reborn as savvy916 reborn as..well, you get my point. Ten years? Why not? As long as I am having fun. You say yourself how interesting we all are...and savvy too. I hadn't thought of that. :)

Dutchess is a hoot! I love the humour he brings to the board. And Greatness comes across as someone I'd want to be friends with. He seems thoughtful & caring. Two qualities that are tops in my book.

Hugs,

Greg

Keep repeating that, Duchess, and maybe we will be inspired to live up to your picture of us.

In all seriousness, I have noticed that since you and Greatness started posting, the whole tone of the board has changed for the better. SNAPS ! for the both of you.

Hey Greg

We are friends then..:) Well I will be tempted by your cuteness so we might become friends with benefits :) but I always value a pure friendship...

Think that some of us "new posters" - aren't really new... just that we took time off maybe. :) And just rejoining in the great chats with folks here..

I too am glad to see that as of lately, everyone is playing nicely. New faces (screennames) are always welcome...And Duchess, I am thankful you chose your current name instead of a lurker-related one. I am the original Lurker...at least as far as screennames go..

On a related note, Cooper mentioned Lucky's Palm Springs Theater weekend that he and Oliver so graciously host. I can personally testify that it is indeed a great, funfilled weekend not to be missed. For the past two year, I have hosted a Phoenix Hoo-MER pride weekend. This year it will be the weekend of April 17-18.. Our parade is Saturday and festival Saturday and Sunday.. We have not one but two all nude male strip clubs (Dicks Cabaret and II Dicks), plus a new Babylon Showclub with boys in undies/gstrings..In the past, we have gotten together Friday nite to see the boys at a strip club, then on Saturday, watched the parade, and toured the festival, then all met up for a group dinner on Saturday nite. It has been a group of posters from here and MER, plus a couple of local working boys.. Sunday was brunch (this past year we were joined by Brandon Baker and Angel Benton) and then more time at the festival, and another nite of boywatching at the stripclubs.. some of the group even went to the strip club on Saturday nite as well..

So, mark the dates on your social calendars.. I would love to expand the group even more this year.. What more could you ask for, sunny weather, hot boys wearing little or nothing at all, and the good company of some fellow posters..

If anyone has any questions or is interested, drop me a line and I will keep in touch as the time draws a little closer.

Everybody here is nice and caring. I don't think we made any difference. We happen to join the forum at a peaceful time. Thank you for your love~~~
