I have always thought it was interesting that when Nate King Cole was young he was considered, by many, to be one of the best, if not the best, jazz pianists. As time passed he decided that he could make more money as a vocalist. Many in the jazz world where highly critical of that decision and even considered him a traitor to jazz because of it.
