Newmeat / Campus Theater, San Francisco

I am heading to San Francisco in a couple of weeks.

Has anyone been the the New Meat Theater recently? What is the best time to go, who puts on the best shows?

I have been to the Nob Hill and would like to try something different.

Skip it! Go spend your time and money at the Nob Hill, which has vastly improved over the last two months. Also, the NewMeat is in a very seedy area of SF!

I went to the Campus in March 2002. Don't know if it's been renamed Newmeat or not.

 

I found the Campus Theater to be filthy, slimmy, smelly, and just plain disgusting. The guys looked to me like street hustlers and I couldn't get out of there fast enough. It was also very hot and they didn't seem to have AC turned on. I worked up quite a sweat but it wasn't because of the dancers or clients!

 

There weren't a lot of people the night I went so maybe it's not a fair representation of the place. But, it reminded me of a step back to the 1970's and the typical "low class" bath house. (I've been in really nice bath houses and I've been in real dives. This reminded me of the worse bath house I ever visited.)

 

I have always enjoyed Nob Hill and immediately went there after running from Campus. To me, Campus was a waste of my money and time.

I can't remember when I went to this "dive"! Perhaps it was last summer. I paid the reasonable fee, went in, walked around viewing the place, and stated to myself--"Why in the hell am I here!" The place was devoid of dancers and patrons. One man sat in the corner masturbating while a dancer gyrated near him. Again, I thought-- DAMN, I can definitely, definitely DO BETTER than this!

 

The whole ambiance was one complete downer and turn off for me. I MADE A QUICK EXIT, slamming the door in disgust and vowed never to RETURN again.

 

(It's odd: when this club initially opened, it was HOT-- had three floors, a large theater area, and some awesome men-- built and buffed and construction worker types. I had some fun during those days and have not been back since until as mentioned previously.)

You're so right - this place used to be smokin' way back when it was called Campus and they had pornstar headliners. Now they don't even have a theater!! What happened?!x(

Has anyone been there in the last six months of so. I am led to believe that the place has been spruced up and the shows are supposed to be better.

As I previously posted, I was there in March 2002 that certainly qualifies as the last 6 months. This place has NOT been spruced up and I didn't see anything that I'd call a show. All I saw was a someone looking like a street hustler trying to grind and bump his smelly body in my face.

 

Have you ever been there (especially in the last 6 months)? I'd love to hear about your wonderful experience.

I've never been there, but occasionally watch the feed (okay, most nights). Anyway, some of the entertainers from the past are starting to come back. I've spotted Jimmy Jax & Acapulco? Jordan recently. So I guess there has been a change in management.

 

I'm very tempted to trade in some of my frequent miles & go...

However, it's not cheap. If you become a member of a site like Bedfellows, you will have other feeds to watch when Nob Hill is down (it does it quite often).

 

Then get a screen capture program & plenty of hard drive space & you can have your own stripper movies!

Nob Hill Theater is a competitor of Newmeat/Campus Theater. I probably misread your post because I thought you were watching a link for the Newmeat/Campus Theater.

 

Believe me, comparing Newmeat/Campus to Nob Hill is like comparing balony to prime rib.

well, maybe like comparing balony to meat loaf. Campus/New Meat is a dump that usta be cool, but Nob Hill has also gone way WAY downhill from its glory days. Just cause Campus has fosaken its quality doesn't mean Nob Hill doesn't have a lot to answer for as to how they've wrecked something that was once GREAT! x(
