Two words...

Healthcare reform - it's needed and overdue. This serves as another example that something, whatever that is needs to be done.

Nothing. It's very credible. Sadly, it's a fact that medical bills are the number one cause of bankruptcy in the US, not frivolous purchases.

Let's all remember the old proverb:

There but for the grace of God, go I.

I can only imagine the frustration and anxiety you are going through.

That said, I think I echo the comments made by others on this thread when I say your offenses are minor and will eventually be straightened out. You need to start working on a plan to rectify you offenses and make everything right. If you need licenses, start by making an application. If you go to court without having anything prepared in your defense, it will only worsen the situation.

Here is the website and telephone number for the LAMBDA Gay legal site in Atlanta. I suggest you call immediately and speak to someone about your situation. Tell them about your situation and see what advice they offer, even if they suggest some other means or leagl orgnization to assist you. It's worth the call. You need some peace of mind and you need someone who will help you get through this. I suggest you call their Helpdesk on Monday afternoon when it opens.

Good luck!

I don't want to get off topic, but his unfortunate circumstance has nothing to do healthcare reform. He got the healthcare he needed, what he didn't have was insurance and that was of his own choice. He chose to gamble that he wouldn't get sick and he lost that gamble. Healthcare shouldn't be "reformed" to save gamblers money.

I agree that healthcare needs reforming, but this situation is not an example of why it does. It's an example of why every healthy person should have insurance.

Until then, everyone to the rice fields!!!

hmm

You are right in that people need health an insurance. However, you don't seem to understand skyrocketing medical fees even though one has an insurance. If you have MS your medical fees will be high even though you have an insurance. Sometimes insurance companies will find a way to argue that it is a pre-existing condition and deny one's coverage. His unfortunate circumstance has to do with the healthcare reform. Can you afford deductible, co-pay and expensive prescriptions that come with being afflicted with MS? You have to see a specialist and they are expensive.

Some people have great insurance benefits from their employers. When you have to purchase your own insurance that is a totally different story. Health industries lobby a lot. The amount they use for lobbying is astronomical. Who pays for their lobbyists? We are.

Some opt to not have health care insurance and some cannot afford to have health care insurance. Affordable health care is the reform we need, whether it is through the private sector, with their mutlimillion dollar executive bonuses or through the private sector with their multimillion dollar bureaucracy and inefficiencies. Pick a poison and drink it and lets get the people that want it, the care that they need.

I couldn't afford to have health care insurance. most of my life i worked for others and had great coverages with little or no money taken out of my checks each week. then 5 months without coverage I found out I had colon cancer After that insurance was way over the top expensive...

(you run up $17,000 in credit card debt then ask for donations??).

Do you plan on apologizing for writing such an idiotic statement?

Next time read the posts to find out why he got $17,000 in debt before making such a statement.

Very True...Not as bad as it used to be with some just jumping into The MIDDLE of a THREAD...But when you do it you should have the DECENCY to apologize for a very uninformed statement.
