Format: Single floor consisting of stage, short bar with 4-5 stools, table seating, and pool table. Capacity is 112 for seating. Table service waiter and shot boy on weekends. Coat check available at entrance -- $1.

 

Back room dances: Back rooms consisting of a single room off the main room, partitioned into subrooms (6'x10') by heavy drapes. Within each subroom a suspended light fixture and single chair. Admittance to the back room is $10 per song to the house. Additional charge applies to dancer -- ususally $20 or $30 per song, depending on the dancer, roughly 5 minutes per song. Activity is negotiated with the dancer but is on par with back rooms in Campus/Taboo Montreal and maybe better if you negotiate well .

 

Dancers: Every six weeks or so the club brings in a Porn name and bumps the cover to $20. Past names have inclued Matthew Rush and DC Chandler. The regular guys include a mix of younger guys, good looking to hot, clean cut to skater to 'gay boy'. All body types (twinks/swimmers/muscle) can be seen. Mix of gay and gay-for-pay. Some dancers do privates but most prefer the backroom, which can be more lucrative on busy nights. Most circulate on the floor between dance sets to work the crowd for back room dances. Some interesting times can be had at the table, but these are come-ons for the back room. The weekend shot boy sells shots for $1 and depending on the guy, he puts his equipment up for close inspection -- hands allowed. Again, a litte discretion is called for. Shot boy does back room dances at the prevailing rate if you desire.

 

The Stage: Typically seven to eight dancers per night. Dancers take the stage between 9:30 and 10:00 for the preliminaries. On weekends the 'show' starts around 10:30 and is hosted by a Drag Queen each Saturday. Each dancer comes out dressed and strips down, most to full nudity, many with full or semi erections. Many give wide open shots of their performance.

 

Crowd: Mixed ages, some females. Maybe Ladies Night will impact the mixed gender crowd.

Should also mention that S and S is next to the Gay Megaplex, a bathouse type establishment owned by the same people. Heard some good things and some sleezy things about it. Sounds like a definite + if you are the bath house type.

Saints & Sinners closed in December 2003, and a straight strip club (ViXXXens) will be opening in the former S&S location. The owner of Saints still holds the only license for fully nude male dancing in Providence, and there are rumors that Saints will re-open in a different location, but nothing is certain at this point.

 

For those in and around Providence looking for a strip club, try the nearby Trixx at 165 Poe Street. Technically, nudity is not allowed, but most dancers are plenty willing to show you the goodie package for a nice tip. Also, "private shows" are allowed in a couple of locked booths. Pulse, also nearby, used to have the same set-up as Trixx on Wednesdays and Sundays (almost-nude dancing on stage, dancers do "privates" in booths), but apparently the club is on its last legs. Although Pulse has not officially closed, none of the dancers showed up on a recent Sunday night.
