There was a noticeable difference last night at the 20C as compared to other nights, fewer dancers and the absence of customers.

At 10pm the place was practically empty. Too bad, for there was a nice group of dancers working and a couple of new ones just starting. Also, there have been some changes for the better. The lights are much dimer in the lap dance area and no security guard was monitoring your behavior.

I found everyone working there to be polite and accommodating, perhaps a result of the club losing most of it's regular patrons.

Sadly, prices there still continue to climb. I was told champagne rooms cost $150-180, depending on which side you use. Dancers now have to pay the house $95 to work there. That equates to almost 5 lap dances just to break even. If last night was any indication of what's to come, I doubt if many will be returning.

Most of the people I spoke to last night said the economy is hurting them and they just don't feel comfortable spending money at this time, regardless of what it's on.

Perhaps when Lucky visits NYC the economy will start picking up again.

rentingdad, I am glad to hear it! I'll be bringing my partner, so you can spend time with both of us, and we definitely will try not to run the bill up on you! :)

With what these Guys have to Pay Upfront to Dance and the lack of a decent crowd, I can understand why those who have the Talent "Working It" at $250 an Hour, have found other Places to be on a Sunday Nite! ;-)

"The Stock chat members sent a potential customer there on Sunday night, and he was turned away (on his birthday), because he did not have a "membership." Any truth to this?"

Balt... As you know, there is no "membership" to enter the 20C. The cover is $10 before 7pm and $20 after that. Birthday boy's story sounds fishy. What did the "Stock chat" members say?

RE: Halloween Party at the 20C and special guest...

Good time had by all last night as over 20 dancers took part in entertaining the patrons for the 20C Halloween party. Several of the dancers took to the stage in costume, however, one "new" customer named "Josephine" aka jaynnj won the prize for best drag queen costume. He dressed up as one of the regular women patrons and was a big hit. Good job Jay. :D

Things at the Club are definitely improving. Those "gorillas" (aka lap dance monitors) are gone and the lights have been turned down. This has added to the quality of the lap dance and customers were having a field day with the dancers.

Two popular dancers returned. Ryan, our Southern Comfort guy, looking better than ever. He's been working out and it shows... Also, Costas, (European) has returned. He has a medium build and a energetic personality.

Another high-light of the evening was meeting up with former board member "Marc Anthony". He's visiting the metro area and we hooked up for a fun night out with the boys. After dinner with our youthful companions, we visited the 20C. It didn't take long before Marc found that special "twink". A really cute Russian guy named Lance, however, Marc had some competition and had to wait his turn as other twinklovers were also in attendance. Marc's contributions on this m/c are definitely missed. He's one of the good guys I've met from Hooville. It was great seeing him and catching up on all his adventures.

In 2 weeks our beloved Lucky, the reigning champ of posting, will be in NYC and joining the Hooville posse at the 20C. All the local internet locations have been notified. :+

RE: Halloween Party at the 20C and special guest...

can't believe I will miss Lucky! I plan to tentatively be at Club20 this coming Sunday evening with at least one "younger companion" - looking forward to an improved experience over the last time we were there in early October.

Any hints on who this "younger companion" might be? any others under consideration? :)

See you on Sunday!

Will do if you promise to pull your proverbial tongue from you check :-) and let me express my admiration to (OK fawn over) Trevor who is simply one of the best performers Denise ever let grace the Gaiety stage.

Hey Tom, TJ is a great companion, any other possibilities? Maybe one having the initials J.C.? If so, he's one of the hottest looking guys I've ever seen at the 20C.

I'm sure by now more than a few "Dancing Guys" from W20 who can and know how to "Work It" are doing just that. ;-)

But alas' ALOT of "Stripper's" are not into "Working It" for different reasons. ;-) So they will have to just Dance a little Faster through these Economic Times! ;-)

"If recession is hurting the 20 Club, would that mean that the dancers are offering discounts? They can stimulate business that way."

Basket, You raise a good question, however, other than the lap dances, the dancers really don't have any say over the steep prices at the 20C. I've heard that some customers have negotiated deals with lap dancers. Each dance is $20 per song but some will do X number for X amount. As for the champagne rooms, you pay the house and they pay the dancer. Good luck as a negotiator. Let's us know if it works. Coop

RentingDad, if you and your entourage are going to do anything more than observe at Club 20 this Sunday, you're going to have to bring multiple Ben Franklins. :-)
