I attended the Super Bowl "non-party" Game at the 20C. I'm sure most would agree that the game was more exciting to watch than the stage shows. Also, it was difficult to watch both at the same time as the TV's are on the back wall and the stage is in the front.

 

Unfortunately, for dancers Ryan and Costas, they were on stage doing a very erotic and sensual duo during the last 3 minutes of the game. Sadly, everyone had their backs to the dancers while watching the game, however, there was a loud roar when the GIANTS WON! and the dancers took an appreciative bow. :-)

 

It was a very slow night at the Club. Few dancers and patrons. I heard that Splash Bar was the place to be as they had an amazing Super Bowl party with $1 draft beers, free pizzas, and MEGA screens.

 

I hadn't been to the 20C in over a month yet recognized all the dancers. Sadly, no new ones last night.

 

One a "happy" note, one patron was celebrating his birthday and brought along a delicious looking, large sheet cake. Unfortunately, he forgot to bring a knife, forks, candles, and plates. The staff tried to help, but with little success. He just sat there looking at it. It was very awkward.

Hey Cooper,

Thanks for the feedback regarding Club20. I was discouraged to hear about the continued decline in attendance of both customers and dancers there lately - an ominous trend that I hope gets corrected before too much longer. Not sure what's going on behind the scenes with the increase in dancer's fees and champagne room fees and quotas. In the spirit of free market capitalism,I hope that the management at Club20 will cut all of us some slack in these recessionary times. For now Club20 seems to have a monopoly on the scene in Mahattan, and I'm all in favor of its continued success. I'm not looking for a big stimulus package, but then again, it depends who it's attached to...the bigger, the better.

Hey there everyone...Let me begin by say'n that I have been reading this forum for a couple weeks now and all I read is everyone complaining here about how club 20 is ripping everyone off and that it pretty much sucks. Well let me tell you whats up from a person on the inside looking out....I work at the club..all our fees have been hiked up and all the guys that are on the payroll weekly have had their pay cut they basically work for tips and must split that between the few of them. It all spans back to the owner who is GREEDY there is no other word but that. What patrons need to do is COMPLAIN not to the dancers but to guys like julio or russ they are always in the back next to the bar in the corner. Russ always has the owners ear...and if they hear that your not satisfied maybe we can save this club...BUT LET ME BE CLEAR...all that has been going on is fault of ownership and not the mgr's, doorman, casheer, dj, or dancers...we are all just try'n to keep our jobs...we too have life's and bills to pay!....

 

Club 20 will only be saved if the owner gives all the employees a break and stop taking most of the profits especially since we are the ones earning them.

 

The superbowl was to be a big promotion with drink specials and food...BUT the owner dont want to give anything away for free...and if we lay out any money to buy chips etc...we DON'T get it back...our loss!

Just to clear things up, I assume you are not Julio the club's manager, perhaps you should have chosen another user-name to avoid any confusion.

 

You raise many valid points, but one statement I'll strongly disagree with is who's doing the complaining. When I arrived at the Club on Sunday, it was the staff, manager, and dancers who were complaining to me, not the other way around.

 

Also, like you, the patrons complaints to the management fall on deaf ears. Take for example turning the lights down in the lap dance area. The patrons complained an complained to management about this and, when the lights were finally turned down, one of the other "chiefs" quickly turned them back up. As an employee there, you know the reason why. It's all about GREED! The house would rather you do a $150 champagne room dance than a $20 per song lap dance that they make no money off of. Dancers have told me that they must do at least 2 VIP room privates to continue working there.

 

Simply put, the 20 Club is poorly managed. Currently, there is no advertising done to promote this Club. It used to carry an ad in HX or Next magazines, but no longer. Attempts to bring in big name porn stars to attract more customers fails because no one wants to put up the money to back this. The Club is losing it's regualar customers who no longer feel the need to spend hundreds of dollars on limited entertainment.

 

Many of us who attend the 20C are successful businessmen and see what a gold mine this place could be if it were properly managed.

 

However, with all that said, when I enter the 20C I park my problems at the door. I go to kick back and relax with some good friends. The manager Julio is a great guy who sees that the regulars are taken good care of. The dancers know us and give us that special attention we are looking for. The staff is very friendly and treats us with respect. Bottom line, the 20C still provides the best male entertainment in the metro area.

Sorry "julio11", no sympathy here. Dancers at the 20C tell me they make $700+ a night, tax free, not bad. Try making that dancing one night at Chippendale's or anywhere else in NY. Simply put, male dancers (like models) don't make as much as female dancers.

 

The problem with greed is that you're never satisfied. If you're not happy, do something about it. Management/owners should be promoting the Club to get more customers. That place should be packed each Sunday, then why isn't it?

 

Good luck with your quest, but if you're so unhappy, maybe it's time to move on.

julio11, I don't know how much $'s you spend when you go out to a club but here's an idea of how much I spent last Sunday at the 20C.

 

DO THE MATH

 

Cover.........$10.00

Coat Check.... $3.00 + tip

4 Gin/Tonics @ $14.00 ea. = $56.00 + tips

6 Lap Dances @ $20.00 ea. = $120.00

1 Champagne Room... $150.00 + tips to manager & dancer

2 pees.... tip to attendent

2 baskets of chips... tips to George

 

NOT including tips, my night at the 20C cost me $339.00 with tips over $400.

 

The other guys I was with spent just as much if not more. We can't support every dancer but we do our best to keep that Club in business.

I think a dancer's take varies A LOT from week to week. Sometimes they make $1,500 in a night; sometimes they get no champagne rooms and the night costs them money. I've had a few pity dates in the champagne room just because the guy was having a quiet night.

 

I don't care so much about the money. I tip way more in the champagne room than I spend outside it all night. The reason I haven't been to the club in over 2 months is because its the same dancers every week.
