I googled the club's name and found their website.

Seems like a legit Moroccan restaurant and lounge with belly dancers, etc. The flyer seems to be suggesting something that would seem very out of place from the website description. Here is the description from their website: (http://www.taginedining.com)

This is probably a new incarnation of an event, but a couple or more years ago a friend and I went to this place for an advertised night with strippers and were not at all comfortable with the scene. Very straight environment with only, as I remember, one dancer. The staff did nothing to make us feel welcome. So I hope this is indeed a new group of people...

In case anyone should be visiting NYC next week, Puta Barata will be hosting it's next party called "magic carpet ride" on Friday, Feb 16th.

 

I contacted Mr. Barata and he told me the "international go-go dancers" start around 11pm and lap dances "are possible too". He expects between 3 and 4 dancers.

 

The party takes place in the lower level of the restaurant Tagine: 537 9th Ave. at 40th St. behind the Port Authority. It's a bar/lounge type atmosphere. It's mostly attended by gay men.

 

If anyone should go, please post your reactions.

I went and had a good time. Nice hosts (not David from LeFleurs - my mistake - I think they're names are Alex and Steven), nice cute bartender (Antonio). Mixed-age gay crowd - young, middle and older. It's in a cute private room below the actual restaurant, lots of couches, banquettes and pillows. There were 4 dancers, James (of Stella and Magic Touch), Jonathan (from Stella's and Tool Box, now seen at Urge), Javier and one other (Luis?). There was also a brave performance by a female belly dancer. I liked it, but it was a few minutes too long.

 

Lot's of friendly interaction and lack of attitude.

Been lurking here a long time, but never posted because the Stella's, Magic Touch kind of guy was more my taste than Club 20.

 

Glad to see I'm not alone!

 

Any word on Boysroom? Do any of these guys do privates? Always had my eye on James, Joel and Usher.

Puta Barata presents Aladdin's Magic Lamp on Friday, April 13th at the Tagine Lounge. Located at 537 9th Ave, at 40th St. Doors open at 10pm... Thanks to "catnip's" for posting his fine report, it sounds like a fun night with some hot dancers.
