I arrived in Montreal early on Thursday, the 12th. It was cloudy and mild---compared to anything I have ever experienced up here in mid-winter. Today, it's Saturday monring---raining slightly, and STILL mild. The change is coming early evening, but meanwhile I have been able to walk around the streets of my favourite city with my winter jacket either totally open, or slung over my shoulder. The sidewalks are totally free of ice and snow, and everyone seems to was relatively quiet--but I likebe walking around in a daze---what did we do to deserve this????

Thursday at Campus and Stock Bars it that way--good opportunit to catch up and the watier, Antoine, is a great source of information :)))

Evening at Campus was more lively and so was Stock---but with 20 customers and 10 dancers, it was easily to approach anyone you were interested in. I'll forgo a "blow by blow" account of my visit, but it has been great so far. Friendly dancers, friendly waiters, friendly coat check people--great food and what can ask for anything more.

If anyone has any specific questions about dancers/bars, send me a private e-mail and I'll do my best to respond.

And no doubt your pants are unzipped! It's always nice to get a Montreal report, but here you are willing to tell us about the weather and the clean sidewalks, but no "blow-by-blow" about the clubs or dancers? Awww! x( I want more! :)

Hey Samai, One quick question... Could you ask Stock's Icon Eddie, Eddie, Eddie if he's really coming to NYC next weekend. There are some disbelievers.

I hope the MTL clubs are back to normal after the invasion of the Hoovillians... Continue to have fun and keep us posted.

Come on, who were the great dancers? And where did you have the great food?

Glad to hear ALL the elements (weather, boys, etc.) converged

for a great January weekend (I'm just not brave enough to venture north

in the months of January or February.)

A positive to global warming...Montreal becomes inhabitable during

the winter months ;-)

I enjoy traveling to Montreal during the winter months. The clubs are less crowded and the dancers are working harder to gain your attention.

Walking the icy sidewalks can be tricky, but soon you'll get the hang of it. Dress warmly, wear the right boots, cover your head, and you'll have no problem.

One thing that always amazes me is how quickly the airport re-opens after a major snow storm. I was in Montreal during the recent mid December two foot snow storm, the 2nd worst in Montreal's history. I was to depart the next day and my flight took off on schedule.

I won't rule out Montreal during the winter months. Regardless of what time of the year, the strip bars are still the best in North America.

OK, OK, OK---first of all, let me apologise for all the typos in the original post---I sounded half-drunk, and I assure you I was not!! I was at a coffee-shop/internet cafe and my time was running out---no time to edit.

Sorry about "teasing" you readers with not enough details, so let me add some:

Restaurants: I love Indian food, and like the Indian restuarant right

next to Sisters Saloon on St. Catherine, It's called

Tabla, something---has great seating right on the

street so you can watch the parade. Try the Mixed

Grill---get a great variety.

I discovered a restaurant called "Food" near the Sky

complex---across St. Catherine approximately from

L'Adonis. Great modern decor, friendly waiters, and

not expensive--I took a lady friend and my bill was

less than $60 for both of us, including desert.

If you want something to "take out" later in the

evening for your hotel, or a "friend"=---try the

take out section of St. Hubert Chicken---fast, friendly

service and the chicken filet wraps are great.(The

take out section is around the corner from St. Catherine

on a side street---sorry don't recall the name)

Avoid the Gouverneur breakfast buffet--not sure what's

going on there, but going downhill-. Recommend Chez

Cora on St. Catherine for breakfast or Sister's Saloon

bfr a later brunch on Saturday or Sunday.

Dancers: The reasons I don't go into any great detail here? Each

reader/visitor has his own taste and favourites--don't

read anything into that "taste" reference!!! Also I would

rather not post specific actions by dancers--to respect

their privacy--I know, I know, it may be silly, but hey

it's my wish and I'll stick to it. Having said that--I had

""fun" and you can interpret fun any way you like---

Campus: Roberto, Roman, James, Gabriel, Phil, Chris

Stock: Jay, Shad(Chad??), Lewis, Nick, Danny.

Someone asked about Eddie and his travels to NYC. I only spoke to him briefly, and since I am now back home, I will not get a chance to ask---sorry.

The weather in Montreal changed abruptly Saturday night, and as another poster pointed out, the sidewalks can be a challenge if you are not sure-footed and lack good balance, so be warned. I also found Stock and Campus to be less friendly on Saturday night---not sure why---I guess many of the dancers were entertaining regular customers and there was less "wandering" around---both bars were busy and the competition was more intense.

But all in all, it was a great visit and for those who are bored with winter and don't fear the temps of Canada---go on up.

I made my first trip to Montreal Saturday. It was strange watching the re-appearance of winter over the course of the day Saturday.

I arrived in fog and rain, but buy about 4 pm it was snowing and when I left yesterday at noon, it was 5 degrees...

I had some other business while there, so went to the Campus Saturday afternoon and while I dont remember any names, was impressed :)

Though I did get Sylvesters name...That boy can do things hanging upside down from the ceiling bars, that I haven't seen in a long time....wow

But I agree with Samai. I was very dissapointed when I went back later Saturday night. All the boys were pretty much sitting at tables and not very interested.

Where as during the afternoon, the boys were extremely attentive.

I'm going to Cupid's this weekend to thaw out

Thanks for the January Montreal report and the Indian restaurant recommendation. I love Indian food. Well, I plan to go back to Montreal early February, if there is no bad snow storm. Hope it will be my sequel to "John Pela Gone Wild in Montreal".

Also, hopefully I won't have to compete with Taz, Cooper, Lustinguy and Likembig, among others for the dancers like Josh the stud muffin!

Mr Pela,

Muffins are not in your future unless your going to Dunkin Donuts !

January 20-21-22 In Montreal

Small update:

I arrived in Montreal yesterday, January 20, and I am having a wonderful time. I spent about 6 hours Friday night at Stock. Much quality time with Jay, Shad, Daniel, Brandon, Steve, Dominic, and Alex. Wanted to get with Raphael and Joey, but no time! I also received some quality attention from the coat check guy.

The boys could not have treated me better. Escorted me to and from the ATM down the street (the ATM at Stock would only give out $60 per $1.50 fee transaction). Also escorted me to my hotel.

With low customer traffic, customers are able to get high quality attention and service from the dancers, so I recommend that everyone rush up here and take advantage of the boys' down time.

I hope Saturday night is just as good as Friday was!
