Torpedo update: mostly good news

During my recent Fort Lauderdale trip, I had a chance to update my first impressions of Torpedo (which I reported on in [http://babydb.male4malescorts.com/dc/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=19&topic_id=151]). My first night in town, I reached Torpedo around 12:30 am and found that the dancer situation had improved dramatically. There were 10-12 dancers circulating in the room. At times both stages were occupied. A few of the dancers congregated together Taboo-style, but projected an impression of accessibility nonetheless – e.g. two cute guys stopped playing pool to chat with me when I wandered into the room.

 

The bad news is that the spacious, completely private roomettes have been closed to lap dancing (and other activities – see below). Stops have been put on the rods so that the curtains can’t close all the way. Although I was told that they were now available only as open roomettes for “rental” by groups of customers who buy a bottle at the bar and want to hang out together, at least one dancer convinced the bartender to allow a lap dance there (with the curtain partially open). (One of the security people ascribed the changed roomette policy to 2 factors. First, pressure from the police, who viewed the closed room lap dances as essentially prostitution. More importantly, management had found groups of customers ensconced in the roomettes doing things that were sure to get the club in trouble.)

 

Lap dances are now done in a larger area to the side of the back stage which is curtained off from the rest of the bar and furnished with about 6-8 large comfortable couches. It is reminiscent of the lap dance room at Boardwalk, but the couches are much father apart, and no outsider monitors what goes on. (At Boardwalk the DJ is in the lap dance room facing the couches.) A lap dancer and his client might be visible to other dancers and their clients (who are usually too preoccupied to pay much attention).

 

The change in privacy notwithstanding, I had a dance with a cute, wiry, and sexy 2nd generation Puerto Rican from NYC called “Rod” that was as hot as any I’ve had at Campus in Montreal, and that’s a pretty high standard. It didn’t reach the level of my first lap dance at Torpedo in one of the private roomettes, but that was a statistical outlier by any measure.

 

The next evening, with Karl-G in tow, I again dropped by Torpedo around 12:30 after leaving Boardwalk. I felt particularly good that I was able to reintroduce Karl-G to Torpedo (which he had stopped frequenting during its dead period) as a small repayment for his advice at Boardwalk and for his informative and entertaining posts here on the MC.

 

The situation was much the as the previous night. I will defer to Karl-G and his phenomenal memory the pleasure of providing a definitive listing of the 12 or so dancers and their physical attributes.

 

Torpedo definitely comes alive when the other clubs are beginning to wind down. A quick glance at the security guy’s checklist showed that the dancers all arrived at 11 pm or later. Both nights cars and taxis were pulling up one after the other as I was leaving at 2 am.

 

The energy level at Torpedo was also very high. Of all the strip clubs I’ve visited in Fort Lauderdale and in Montreal, it had by far the youngest crowd. There were quite a few hot guys in their 20’s and 30’s hanging out at the bar, including someone Karl-G recognized as a former boy toy of a frequent MC poster.

 

I did find a wide range of attitudes among the dancers. Some were happy to talk, caress, and be caressed for small tips or even nothing, and raised the issue of lap dances only after a long period of time. Others (to the annoyance of the manager), would come over, ask you if you wanted to do a lap dance, and scram right away if you hesitated. There was also a wide range of prices quoted for lap dances, and a wide range of suggested “activities”. In short, unlike the Montreal clubs, there is a real necessity for negotiation (this was true at Boardwalk as well, but there the range of possibilities and prices was more narrow).

Thanks for encouraging me to return to TORPEDO'S, newatthis. I had not been there for a while because of a basically empty bar a couple of times. Things were much different last week, and I heartily support new.

 

It is important to remember that nothing happens, there are no dancers and perhaps only a couple of men drinking, until almost midnight. But then things pick up. When we arrived as 12:30, there were a dozen dancers and perhaps twenty customers. More customers kept arriving. The crowd is the youngest of any of the stripper bars in Fort Lauderdale. There were a number of young male couples, and also several Daddies and their boys, who were very cute. One of the sweetest was a beautiful blond boy with curly locks.

 

The space at Torpedo's is the nicest of any stripper bar in town, lots of room. You can sit at the bar, sit by the mirrored wall, stand in the bar area, sit in an easy chair out by the dance floor, retire to the lap dance alcove with a pretty boy for some fun, carry on a conversation. The dancers tend to mingle and stay with you quite a while without pressuring for a lap dance. Rod was typical. Slender, smooth, sweet, cuddled and allowed you to caress, no rush but stayed quite a while, and then very good in back.

 

new and I spoke with and played with a number of dancers, all of whom were nice and had bodies varying from slender twinks to swimmer types to somewhat muscled. Some of them were:

 

Rod - Purto Rican background, twink, slender, smooth, soft, sweet, nice to cuddle with at bar, good in back room

James - well muscled dancer from Brazil, who worked as sauna boy in Rio and knows how to please customers; he was pleasant at the bar and chatted easily, and he was very good in back

Blade - was a stunningly handsome dancer from Sicily. He has a superb body, not too tall, tight and firm and muscled, but not bulging, very smooth all over. He is a delight to see and feel, has a nice sense of humor, and speaks English well.

Pancho - is a petit dancer from Cuba, cute and twinky. He often wore a baseball cap, but he would take it off if you preferred. He did a very erotic dance on stage and a nice lap dance.

Leo - was formerly "Junior" at Boardwalk. He's from Peru, and I have had a number of good times with him. He has a gorgeous, firm, developed body. His ass was the finest of the night, as usual. He did a great stage dance, highly erotic, and also gives a nice lap dance.

Henrique - looks like former dancer Jonathon/Antonio's slightly older, slightly more muscled older brother = he's very handsome with a stunning face and an absolutely smooth body. He, like a couple of other dancers, wore white lo-rise briefs, a starched collar and bow tie, and that's it. Looks sophisticated and sexy. Very large bulge in briefs; he was obviously very hard the whole time. He did good dances on platform; I didn't get in back with him.

Orlando - is from Venezuela and also has a gorgeous body, nicely muscled but not huge, nice smile, and good stage performance.

Angel - was very good on stage, acrobatic.

David - was taller, swimmer's build, gave a good performance.

 

Torpedo's is a great place to go to after Boardwalk or/and Johnny's, which is just down the street. As new describes, the lap dance alcove is the best in town and quite a bit can be enjoyed. Rates start at $20, which is just looking. From there you negotiate, either at the bar before you start, or with the dancer as you get started. For $35 or $40, much can be enjoyed. There is lots of safe parking, and since it is only a few blocks off of I 95, driving most places is quick and easy. The bar stays open until 4:00 a.m. and there is no cover charge; they had been charging $5 and then $3, but they have decided for now to eliminate the cover. Drinks were also 2 for 1 when we were there. Great place for late at night.

Spida and I made it to Torpedo's last Thursday. It was a great time. I think the guys at Dudes were on average a little hotter but there was plenty of hot boys on hand to keep you entertained till 4 in the morning.

 

We met a couple of guys earlier in the evening and tagged along with them to Torpedos. As noted previously its a pretty nice place and lots of comfortable options for watching the boys. And after 2 the place was swarmed with lots of good looking guys getting off work or coming from other bars. Check out the bathroom which is small and ahem "cruisy". Very cute bartenders and deejays. Spida liked the bartender more than some of the dancers. lol An interesting mix of guys from off the clock dancers to one really hot leather guy. Who knew you could get great boots like that at the Army/Navy store?

 

We had lots of fun with Macho (I think,lol) and really short but cute guy who hung out a lot with us. And Rod was great as well, its nice to get a sincere thank you for a tip. I agree Leo had a world class ass and I dont think I had ever seen rimming done on a public stage for a buck. I missed the name of the guy who wears a kilt sometimes. Wow def. Gaiety quality meat there. Thanks Karl-G for the roundup of guys. Most of the guys on his lists were working the night of our visit.

 

The lap dance area was fun. Fondling cock and tongueing nipples on hot chests for 20 bucks is always a good deal. I had no idea I should be negotiating for more! lol I did get the idea that a few of the guys would be available. If you have someone specific in mind let me know and I'll share what I found out.

 

All in all a great place to see hot strippers, fondle hot guys, meet new friends and get directions to a great place for breakfast. The Floridian on Las Olas was quiet on a rainy after 4 am morning but the foot was good, hot and filling and we met some friendly people and got some advice on the guesthouse scene.

 

I'll have to leave it to Spida to compare Ft. Lauderdale to Montreal but I gotta think everyone would have a great time at Torpedos.

I stayed at a very cool guest house called the Cove House or something like that Duke has a link on his other post of our crawl. It was nice great pool and right next to the beach. The rate for a single queen (I am talking about the size of the bed you sicko's ;-) was 139.00 included bfast and basically you can check in when you want.

 

As I stated the guys who own it are really cool and Shane is very hot! Jerry his partner a bit older is also a hot looking "daddy" who flirts very well!!

There isn't much in the way of hotels in that part of town Jay. Torpedos is on Broward near I-95. You could go up 95 to the Days Inn at Oakland Pk. Blvd. Or go out to the Westin on the west side of town. Much nicer.

 

But the real selection is on the side of toward the beach or the beach itself. Wilton Manors and Victoria Park (gayborhoods) and the 4 strip clubs are not that far apart. So you could stay anywhere you liked really.

I've stayed many times at the Days Inn on Broward which is only a few blocks from Torpedo's. Basic but clean, and usually about $40 a night. I usuually book on days Inn .com .Beware of there nuisance charges, they add for safe, refrig in room, and local phone service.
